I didn’t notice any difference when he was gone or here. Seems like an old guard guy that should have been given his papers.

He was brought in by Scott last year and is very respected by the players and current staff. He is there to act as a GM.

The position has been described by Thomas as serving at the leisure of the head coach, not the AD. It’s different from the NFL.

I’m not sure if anyone broke the news to you, but you no longer have say in LSU football decisions, Derek

The roster management took a nose dive when he left it seems.

So he hired someone to work under O and report to him? Explains why Thomas was allegedly put in charge of recruiting after Ed was fired and made lame duck.

He’s literally one of the most respected personnel guys in CFB.

Almost all of the staff in that building reports to him because your boy Ed was too stupid and lazy to do that and coach.

Then he’s also responsible for the culture of the program. If we’re trying to flip that, seems like he’d be an obvious person to send packing.

Thomas seems to have a pretty stellar reputation nationally with other colleges and with high school coaches. He has played a pretty big role in a few recruitments here over the years and seems to be pivotal to the overall management and organization of future recruiting classes. I think of him as sort of critical infrastructure in IT/Tech terms.

The days when a coach could manage banging Candy Edwards and coaching are long gone.

It’s none of your business.

Seems very bizarre to have a guy working under a head coach, yet working for the athletic director. Did that dynamic change when he was rehired?
