Why Wait?

Can someone clarify something? We get three weeks to practice for the bowl by NCAA rules (is this correct?). So if Les hires a DC before those three weeks, wouldn't that give us three more weeks to familiarize ourselves with the new DC?
So unless Les is forced to wait for an NFL guy, it makes no sense to wait 'ti; after the bowl game if "the man" is already available.
Are there other concerns? recruiting? playing into the timing?

I agree, if he already has his man(as Chicken has stated) then pull the trigger. If he's still looking and interviewing, then Ok, take time to make the right call.

Okay. And, assuming this is the case, how will the whiners and impatient posters know?
sheeeesh....you will all know the answer in good time. Just relax and wait for it. THEN either celebrate the wonderful choice or jeer the stupidity.

As much as I'd love to believe that an agreement is already in place, I just don't.
In fact, I think it's a lot more likely that, while Miles has talked to people about interest, hasn't truly interviewed anyone and likely will not interview anyone prior to the bowl game. I hope I'm wrong.

I was wondering today if there were some way that I could get a text message to my cell when there was actually some NEWS on the coaching situation. It's getting pretty smelly around here, what with so many people crapping their pants in impatience/frustration about having to WAIT for something...

Tube hired Franlin before their bowl win against Clempson last season, and we saw how that turned out.
I believe Coach Miles will return Peveto & Mallory to assistants, and already has his new DC picked out, with the announcement coming after the bowl game.

Unless it's an NFL guy we're losing three weeks of practice time by deferring things to after the bowl.
At this point, I'm not sure a win against GT (and that's a big if to itself) is worth losing out on three weeks of practice with a new DC.
