Why stop the worry now. Will we keep Aranda?

Burnt Orange Nation says ""...there has been plenty of talk that Herman would pursue... Aranda. Reports indicate that the interest is mutual."

Hopefully Aranda doesn't tell Joe he would like to wait to talk to Texas or tittybaby Joe will get his period and let Aranda walk.

ESPN on Orgeron

quote:

It appears he'll make an effort to retain some members of Miles' coaching staff -- Orgeron said defensive coordinator Dave Aranda has committed to staying after LSU ranked in the top 15 nationally in both total defense and scoring defense -- but there are sure to be adjustments.

According to this article Aranda has agreed to stay. Now we all know anything can change but it appears for the moment he has said he will stay.

Of course he told O he plans on staying. And he very well may. But as soon as Herman and UT come calling and offer just as much, watch how quickly that tune can change

I don't think it will. He's making very good money, might even get a raise this year and it's not easy to move your entire family year after year, even to work with a friend. I'm not saying there's no way Aranda leaves but I think the odds of him staying are better than if he's leaving.

As soon as UT calls, the LSU AD will throw up the white flag. If you're unwilling to pick a fight for your head coach of the future, I'd be surprised if you're going to pick a fight for a DC who will leave within a few years for a HC job.

F it. Pay him more than O. If O's whole plan was a. To be the Low Cost leader head coach in order to b. Hire the absolute best coordinators in college football to c. Lead to championships then it should not matter if LSU is the only school that pays their coordinators more than the head coach. That was what he sold the big wigs on.
