So you only want to pay top dollar for a coach with multiple nattys. Got it.

Key mistake: you’re assuming the bullshite rumors on this board aren’t Male Bovine Fecal Material.

Why overpay…?
That's what I say. How is Lincoln Riley with his lame arse defenses year after year worth $6 plus million dollars more than Lane Kiffin? Or how is Jimbo Fisher with his lame as antiquated offense, worth $6 million plus dollars more than Lane Kiffin.
Meanwhile, Lane Kiffin not only has the best offensive mind in the country and is a far better coach than either one of them, but he is also the SEC coach of the year because in less than two years, he transformed that train wreck in Oxford into a contender in the SEC West.
What disqualifies Lane Kiffin from becoming the next LSU head coach in people's unhinged minds? His 73.5 percent successful conversion rate on his 4th down calls?
Leaving Tennessee after only one year to accept the job at USC, where Lane Kiffin cut his teeth on coaching?
Getting fired in his fourth season at USC due to a combination of a lack of maturity and harsh sanctions imposed on USC by the NCAA.
Spending three years at Nick Saban's coaching rehabilitation clinic while also being the OC who coached Alabama's offense to a Natty in 2015?
Is it parlaying a very successful head coaching run at Florida Atlantic into his much better gig at Ole Miss?
What exactly disqualifies Lane Kiffin from becoming the next head coach of LSU?
Is Mel Tucker better qualified than Lane Kiffin? Not close.
Is Dave Aranda better qualified than Lane Kiffin? Not close.
Is Billy Napier better qualified than Lane Kiffin? Not close.
So what is it?

I agree. Just don’t want another CEO buyout or a Jimbo/Riley situation where people want to get rid of them because we finished 9-3.

Why do you care? Are you part of the group that helps pay that salary? If you’re not, then it’s really none of your concern how much they pay a coach. Personally, I don’t give a shite how much money they think it takes to get the right guy. I just hope they do.

Half of Davids Shaw’s contract gets collected for taxes. Poor fella…

You go after Riley because he's a great Offensive mind and he would have more defensive talent at LSU than OU could ever dream off. His defenses suck mainly because he doesn't have the talent on that side of the ball.
Posted on 11/9/21 at 4:33 pm to Lsuhal
Wait… is he not responsible for recruiting at OU? He should be able to recruit that talent at OU.

All you slapdicks complaining about over paying a coach, let me know if it’s your money that’s being used to pay. Who gives a frick what we pay. It will never be an issue at LSU, so stop crying.

I'm thinking the op wants Napier, since he is obviously the second coming of Saban.

ou go after Riley because he's a great Offensive mind
So you say go after Riley who has a good offensive mind in the second rate Big 12 conference where he can constantly run up the scores on his second rate competition to pad his QB's numbers while at the same time, all of his teams have had exceeding atrocious defenses, and pay him $12 million dollars a year.
Thus, why is paying Riley $12 million dollars a year a better deal than hiring Lane Kiffin, who is even a better offensive coach, for $6 million dollars a year?
Can you explain that one for me please?
Posted on 11/9/21 at 4:47 pm to Micro12Tiger
I like Kiffen, but one of these has 2 different Heisman trophy winning qb's.

Kirby will probably be highest paid after this season.Saban's agent should float a rumor he is flirting with LSU to keep the title of highest paid coach.

Lol at you thinking we can get LK for $6M a year. Not a chance in hell.

To think that someone wants to throw Riley or Jimbo 4-5 mil more than what they currently make blows me away

Well, if Riley is hired by LSU and Riley gets replaced by Lane Kiffin at OU, then watch Lane Kiffin become the next QB whisperer by intentionally running up the scores against his second-rate competition in the second-rate Big 12 to pad his QB's numbers so that they can win Heismans.
While Riley is fired after three years for continuing his long arse streak of exceedingly piss poor defenses.

Better staff and facilities
A HC like a Riley (though I don't think we have a shot in hell with him) is a HC and coordinator all in one, so you're getting staff handled right there. You pay a premium for a coach that can hold down one side of the ball.
