Well LSU has played football since 1893 or 123 years. Surely, they must have played a nobody once or twice before. Why wait until your 123rd year to set three offensive records?

LF broke 3 runs of 50, 70, 78 or so. Thats not scheme. Thats a badass being a badass.

A failed OC at two different schools vs Jimbo/Herman...and after 3 games no less.

But he's from Lousiana and he's one of y'all! That counts more than anything.

I said basically the same thing in the other thread of thousands. I am not for or against Coach O getting the job, but just because he speaks with a cajun accent and looks better than the idiot that just got fired, people should not be anointing him the next coming.

Let's face it, he was the defensive line coach at LSU until just recently...give it some time before you fall head over heals.

Oh yeah, and it was his first game as an LSU Tiger.

Wasn't Jimbo OC at LSU for a few years or more. How many all-time LSU records did his offense break? Did he break three records in three straight games?

Herman has never and will probably never be the offensive coordinator at LSU.

well he won the SEC and a national title as OC. Does that count for anything?

Keep in mind the multitude of 1st round QBs he's coached. And the other NC he has won as a HC. And all the top 5 recruiting classes.

Surely all of that is outweighed by O's accomplishments in 3 games.

.286 record, 10-25 at his last HC position.

If anyone else were 10-25 in their last HC position, and they weren't from LA, this board would be having a collective shitfest if the name was even mentioned in the same breath as "LSU Head Coach".

Oh look, one mother likes coach O. Cool.

quote:

Orgeron particularly enjoyed recruiting to LSU as a head coach instead of against it as he did at Ole Miss from 2005-07.

“I’ve recruited this state for a long time, and I’m glad to be wearing purple and gold recruiting it,” he said. “I’m friends with most of these guys (high school coaches in Louisiana). They understand. Most of these guys I’ve been in clinics with. Most of these guys have come by our camp. I think having a personal relationship with most of these coaches really helps. You can just feel their happiness that a Louisiana guy is coaching the team.”

quote:

Orgeron, 55, has been recruiting Louisiana for most of his collegiate coaching career through stops at Northwestern State, McNeese State, Arkansas, Miami, Nicholls State, Syracuse, USC, Ole Miss and Tennessee. In all, he hit 10 high schools over the weekend.

“I saw a lot of friends of mine at those schools,” he said. “High fives from everybody. ‘Hey coach, way to go. We like the way the team played. Coach, can I take a picture?’ It was amazing. The fans were going crazy. It was wild. Everything was positive, and I did my regular recruiting deal. Obviously, I couldn’t talk to the players (no contact period at the moment). I went to get evaluations, transcripts, just business as usual. But it was the LSU head coach there, and I realized that. People were excited to see the LSU head coach. It was a great day.”

Are you really a Georgia fan? If so, how can you show your face on a coaching changes board, much less try to give advice?

Your great decision to change coaches just cost your program a loss at home to Vanderbilt.

Damn, I just typed that and still can't believe it, lost at home to Vanderbilt. WOW !!!

Nah man, they are looking for RECORDS. Even individual records count.

Not coaching records, just stats. Because though coaching records dont look so hot.

I love Louisiana. I love the people of Louisiana. But there comes a time when you have to realize that the HC position for LSU is bigger than Louisiana.

Les Miles won a multiple SEC and a national championship.

I'm not saying Jimbo isn't a good OC or HC.

Actually, my original point was SE isn't considered to be a great OC. What he has accomplished in just three games cannot just be tossed aside like it didn't happen. LSU has also outscored opponents 73-7 in the second half during SE's short tenure. If CEO can have just mediocre OC's or promote other TE coaches then LSU should be okay on the offensive side of the ball.

No need for CEO to be some kind of offensive guru.

Meant to type "in the second half" it has been corrected.
