Hasn't been a lot of chatter here about Big-game Bob. This guy has been consistently successful at a very, very high-level. Yes, he's lost some big games but he's also won some big games, and recently beat Bama. Despite being a defensive guy, his offenses have been impressive. I'd say his resume matches up fine with Jimbo's. I get the impression he is sick of spoiled Sooner fans and boosters complaining, so he may be much more available now than in the past. I just don't want his brother as DC.

I don't think getting Stoops is realistic. But you never know until you make the call. Whether LSU does or not............

No thanks. His overall resume isn't that much different than Les's and he's in a much weaker conference.

He beat Bama in a bowl game once but everyone knows if Saban isn't playing for a national tile, he doesn't care.

people give Miles shite for winning a title "with Sabans players" in year 3, yet stoops won a title in year 2 with jeff blakes players. that was 16 years ago.

Fisher built his own team and won a title in year 4.

no one does. and yet there he is.

why?

I don't think OU fans are spoiled at all. There is no reason they should not completely dominate the BIG12 and ALSO compete out of conference.

Their recruiting is awful too. That wouldn't fly at LSU.

Why? He's won the Big 12 conference 6 out of the last 10 years. Including last year. Any coach in the SEC match up to that? Oh yeah, there is one...

Stoops has dominated the Big 12 like Saban dominates the SEC or Meyer has dominated the Big 10. You can only win the conference you play in. Maybe he should have won more NCs, but don't tell me he hasn't been "very, very" successful for a long time.

the 12 is as top heavy as any conference there is. he gets to play Kansas, K State, Iowa State, and Texas Tech every year. thats a month off right there. theres no version of that in LSUs schedule.

Texas has been bad for a long time, West Virginia isnt much better, TCU and OK State are up and down every year, and Baylor just woke up after a hundred year nap.

winning 6 out of 10, with Oklahomas resources and history, doesnt really sound that hard.

He's stale at OU, and a fresh start would probably do him a lot of good. But it aint happening.

at posters turning their nose up at Stoops.

I keep seeing posts that you should hire the coach with the best resume, but these same folks scoff at the thought of big game bob.

have you seen the last 5 classes?

Even his own fan base thinks there's an issue with talent evaluation and recruiting.

Yes, he's 5 right now, but let's see where he is at years end. The previous classes have always been mid to high teens. His best classes were in the mid 2000s.
