The amount of money allegedly being thrown at a guy who hasn’t won anything beyond regular-season games is mind-boggling to me. I could understand it if he had won conference championships, made the playoffs, reached a Final Four, or competed for a national title, but what has he really accomplished? That doesn’t mean he won’t eventually get there, but based on what I’ve read, paying $13–14 million per year feels pretty risky.

That delayed signing the MOU that LSU believed had already been signed.
How does this make any sense whatsoever? How would LSU, not know that he didn't sign an MOU, with LSU?

The plan was 100% for Lane to sign on Friday.
Was it really though? Do we know that for certain?

The meeting with OM happened and they begged for him to coach the Egg Bowl.
According to OM 247 mods the OM President Boyce pretty much told Lane to shut up and listen. Doesn’t sound like they begged for anything. They did ask him to stop posting cryptic shite on X and asked that his family not further embarrass the university.
The 247 mod is saying he is leaving for LSU. An exit strategy that does the least amount of damage is being planned out this week.

A large majority of the 247 posters have settled in in this reality. Some are still holding out hope that he stays.
FL fans on 247 are totally convinced he is a gator. If he picks LSU the state of Florida will have an overloaded suicide prevention hotline system.

Sauces are incorrect.

Sounds like you are just making shite up.
Its wishful thinking on his part. He is holding out hope LSU gets turned down by enough people until they get to Orgeron.
He's too brain dead to realize that it would take about 150 rejections to get to that point.

Not gonna lie, I don’t think he’s worth that amount of money but I’m not the one paying him. I’d like to have him as a coach but if it were me, I’d throw 13 mil a year and 25 mil in NIL to Dillingham and let him cook.

It's surreal to some degree. Would he not want to coach in the playoffs? On the other hand, if it is public that he is leaving, what sort of atmosphere would prevail at OM? So strange.

This would not surprise me.
