ron zook did a miraculous coaching job in the first half of this season, then a shitty job in the second half. he went 6-6. most people would agree hes an average at best coach-- likely worse. bad coaches can do some good things and get on a roll-- it just never lasts

yes, it looks as though we'll have to. i just completely disagree with most of what you believe. im glad you have a coach you really like and believe in, thats a good thing. clearly my definition and your definition of success is different. clearly the expectations i attach to "great" coaches are different than yours. and thats ok. i just dont think being average at a non-football factory is much of an achievement

Yes, Ron Zook ran a powerhouse into the ground and Jim Grobe built a program to respectability. They're completely the same. Nice call.

Because he can't recruit the same types of players as Clemson, Florida State, Miami, Virginia Tech, etc. It's the same problem that Vanderbilt, Duke and Northwestern run into. Are you really not understanding the differences here?

Yes, our definitions are obviously different. Taking a program that has little fan support, a small alumni base, high academics, with 3 other BCS schools in the same state, and no tradition and taking them to a conference championship and on the cusp of going to two others is strong in my opinion.
