We know it’s not a troll. I’m sure that you are dead serious based on your posting history.

How do you people deal with actual, real life problems?

Ever think maybe it’s because Baton Rouge specifically and Louisiana in general is a shithole? If you’re a good candidate, you’re a good candidate everywhere. Maybe you look at the location and say “nah, I’ll pass on the 49th or 50th worst Place in the country to live and raise a family and wait for a position in a place my Family will be better off living.

I don’t say this lightly but…

frick OFF with this shite.

This is the most baseless and played out trope on this board. No university in the country exists in a utopia without problems.

LSU can and will continue to attract great coaches, but please do us all a favor and stop repeating this garbage.

Would think it would be a great place to get exposure. Top facilities ,chance at playoff yearly, top Athletes , great pay etc... Why wouldnt a top OC /DC want to jump on this opportunity? especially when they are working at a place that doesn't have any of these things? Maybe my P&G glasses are on but we seem to go thru this every time we are looking. Aranda seems to be the last Guy that came in with some hype and that has been a while.

A "top OC/DC" doesn't need exposure. He's already known as a top OC/DC and is considering a move to HC.

Next, what top HCs do you see getting top OC/DCs? Is Saban hiring these top coordinators? Everyone here thinks his OC and DC are garbage. What is the model program that you see doing all of the things regarding hiring coaches that LSU shoud be doing?

A top coach like BC doesn't need a "top OC/DC." Guys like BK can eye undervalued assistants and prop them up. The only difference between top assistants and the undervalued assistants is that the latter group doesn't yet have the experience. People should get off of this notion that we need a "top name."

One was not hired by O however

The title of the thread asked why LSU couldn’t get big hires. My point is they have been able to

Orgeron needed to go. Period. The longer we dragged it out, the worse it was going to become.

It's easy to look at the situation, as an outsider, and criticize, but you'd struggle to find a single fanbase in the country who would want Orgeron as their head coach. But because of some arbitrary grace period, apparently owed upon winning a national championship, we were supposed to keep him? No, thank you.

And I don't believe for a second that reasonable people (i.e., most football coaches) don't understand or accept this.

The fact that you think “fans” can fire a coach makes everything you post from here absolutely irrelevant. Can’t possibly take you serious when you use that kind of logic.

this year we've only missed on one DC candidate unless I'm missing something.

We don’t know if he was even offered. BK could have realized he wasn’t a good fit. We just aren’t used to coaches not taking the lazy approach to fill positions.

Even if you like the hire, like myself you can't qustion anything he does because you'll get attacked and down voted! The fact he doesn't have coordinators right now is not good. Everybody knows this to be true, but you better not say it out loud.

If everybody “knows this to be true”, why is everybody downvoting you? I think maybe you’re rationalization just a tad bit.
