Well the Canada hire was a great hire on paper. Didn't work. But what I'm saying is, what if O's hands were tied in this. Especially considering SE has stated that he did not want to be an OC. the whole situation seems strange.

The delay was so they could finalize the deal with Canada which was much better for LSU than it could have been.

If they are willing to approve the promotion of SE to OC, what makes you think they arent dumb enough to nix more credible options? Seems like by approving this, they are shooting themselves in the foot anyway.

It actually wasn’t as bad as the way you just put it. Especially with a first year OC and fricking noodle arm Danny Etling as the QB when Canada wanted Brennan all year long.

I don't believe this at all. Being the OC at LSU would be a huge pay increase over most of their current jobs. It would also look good on a resume.

While I agree, I also feel like young OCs would be lining up at Allevas doorstep to take the job. No matter who the HC is. The opportunity to receive a significant pay raise, as well as turn around a notoriously mediocre offense and propel their career seems like a spot that would be fought over. I'm just in awe right now, really.
