Why is Briles not mentioned as a candidate for A&M?

If Sumlin is mentioned, why in the hell is Briles not mentioned?
Briles has taken Baylor to a tremendous 9-3 record including wins over 4 and 5* players at OU and UT with 3 and 2* recruits.
And before you mention he can't win without Griffin, he got the ball rolling at UH long before Sumlin did. I'm sure Briles would've had the same amount of success.
The only thing with Briles is no defense, but if they're going Sumlin, why in the hell is there a care for defense all of a sudden?
Bring in Briles, let him coach Showers (a solid prospect) and make sure he hires either Ron Zook at DC for recruiting or a solid DC to coach the defense.

Briles has had contact with A&M about interest in the job. It wasn't reciprocated

This is why A&M sucks. Art Briles is one hell of a coach and should be interviewed. Unless he pissed on an Aggie bonfire, he should be considered.

Briles is well known in Texas from his long stint as head coach at Stephenville, Texas. His reputation from those days is considered a liablity. Certainly hasn't done anything to change those impressions recently, including his asshatery during, and after, the A&M-Baylor game.

Did he say something to hurt the poor wittle Aggie's feelings?
If he did worse, then I understand. But if it's just an ego thing, the Aggies fricking deserve every bit of kevin Sumlin.

ETA: I have a hard time believing Baylor, a private christian university, hired Briles and his "liabilities" but A&M's moral compass won't allow them to go there.

He's a grade A a-hole, recruits thug players, most of whom Sumlin Kicked off the team at Houston after he got there. At Stephenville reports were he was moving players in from other districts to build his team up.

I dont know much about Briles but, I do not by the hype surrounding Sumlin. In the C-USA championship game, it didnt look like his players even wanted to play, on the other sideline, Fedora, had his guys ready to go. I think Sumlin will be a bust for a major program. Imho.

Dude, there's not a HS in TX or the south that is competitive that doesn't try to do this shite.
That's it? That's all the Aggies have? This is why they will remain in mediocrity. They will settle on hiring Sumlin and get skull fricked by every team in the SEC.

Dude, are you serious? Do you not remember the basketball scandal at Baylor not all that long ago?
Also, its not about moral compass. Its about the fact that most Aggies hate the shite out of Art Briles, and he does the same.

i doubt the ags want anything to do with anyone associated with baylor. hire fedora or smart and call it a day.
