Why hasn’t Riley signed an extension yet?

Not saying he wont, but why hasn’t he signed an extension yet?
Wouldn’t count it all the way out yet, just saying

People are freaking the frick out over one quote, and it seriously doesn’t mean anything. He may be at OU next year, he may be at LSU. People are such pussies on this board.

Because he and his agent likely played Woodward like a fiddle to get more money and resources that Lincoln wants.

That's not how OU does things. Dec 3rd. BOR meeting.

He just lost an emotional game, of course he wants to back his team

I agree and why hasn't OU even released that they're redoing his contract?
All these other coaches have. Franklin, Tucker, rumors of Kiffin having an extension offered, the same with Aranda.
Nothing from OU regarding Riley.

Maybe because he just signed one last season?

Tried to keep the focus on his team and this season I’m sure. Also leverage, when you are being courted by someone else, it gives you more leverage

He also could have announced last week that he was staying there. We'll see what he says when Woodward formally throws $100M in his lap.

I get that part but his season is over now.

I understand this as well.
If, that's if, he has this huge offer, which I think he's been offered, the $ amount who knows.
I agree with you trying to keep his team focused.
But he could've just shut it down from the start and his team would still be focused. That is plausible.
We've all heard a head coach say, "I'm not going to be the coach at blah blah."
I sure don't see a coach saying it to the national media and letting his players know on the same night they lost a game to a rival.
Just saying it's still a possibility.
