Who says he hasn't? Just because it isn't blasted in the media doesn't mean something isn't in place.

Because if he had, and then had accepted those terms, OU would’ve immediately put it out to the media. See Mel Tucker situation.

Either he hasn’t been offered more by OU, or he has but has not yet agreed to accept.

If Riley turns down 12 million a year to go back to his lowball raise that OU offers him and leaves millions on the table, he is the dumbest person on the planet (to quote Jimbo).

This justification doesn’t make sense to me. How would announcing an extension for their superstar HC have any effect on OU football outside of possibly energizing the fans/team?

The question was why hasn't he been offered more money & I was suggesting that maybe he has, but he is not making a decision yet because he is focused on his current job.

The only reason OU isn't announcing anything is because he hasn't agreed to anything. Doesn't mean OU hasn't offered. I think things will move quickly in either direction if OU loses to Iowa St this weekend - because the conference championship would be off the table.

One of two things.

Riley is either LSU bound or LSU hasn’t offered the job.

That podcast dude dropped the 8/96 offer for Riley.

Everyone acts like that's solid info.

Might not be an offer for Riley/OU to even respond to...

Woody has stated that he is not going to let a timeline affect his decision. He's going to get the best possible even if it carries past the CFP.

To me this says that he anticipated his candidate to be in the CFP. I wonder if that has changed this week?

I think it's solid. Theres a guy who posted on the OU boards to confirm it. Financial consultant, probably big 4 and the way he tells it really makes sense if you speak the language. I'm in the same profession and I believe him 100%

By the way, the same guy later posted "After giving me a bit of good-natured ribbing, my colleague told me that a huge part of this whole ordeal is about 1) boosters and 2) recruiting. Apparently there are major concerns from Lincoln and his staff that they will not be able to recruit the kind of classes that he will need to win in what will presumably be the SEC West. I have no idea what the problem is with boosters."

I would guess the problem with the boosters is coming up with 96 million dollars but what do I know

I hear you...

Just hard to fathom that OU (and Riley by extension) situation would still be that fluid. Their movers and shakers needed to be on board prior to SEC expansion. That decision wasn't made in a vacuum.

I get that piece. But, the Tucker $95 million dollar offer is blasted on every website as well so that puts pressure on them to do something sooner rather than later given this (unsubstantiated) LSU report.

Recruits and their parents keep up with this sort of thing and that would raise a lot of questions for me as a parent

With him not agreeing to such a deal, doesn't it make the reported LSU offer and agreement even more credible? Especially with his weak arse denial earlier this week. Just a thought

My two biggest reasons for thinking Riley is the guy is the weak arse denial and the lack of a counteroffer. If OU is not going to match they cannot lay a weak counter on the table only to have it lay dormant and obviously not considered. That would only fan the smoke into flames.
