All things considered, UT improved during his year there. I remember being impressed with how much better they were by the time they played Bama. I think he is staying one more year at Bama. Bama will have a new QB and RB so Kiffin is much needed. It gives him a chance to look like a genius again and set up a bigger offer to be a HC in 2017.

He interviewed for the Maryland job. Not sure if he would take it or just getting his name out there. I think he leaves after the season. I was told he and Saban had a 2 year handshake agreement.

but if they struggle his stock goes further down.. is it worth the gamble? not that they should struggle, but who knows..
i think it really depends on what he is offered

In a business littered with liars, cheats, scoundrels and charlatans; young Lane Kiffin stands alone as the worst. He's bad people. I still can't believe Saban a) hired him and b) hasn't killed him.
One thing I'll say to his credit- that shady bastard knows Saban is the boss and he doesn't seem to screw with him...ever.

That can cut both ways, though. I'm not making predictions about Bama next season, but just saying that there have been coordinators who had offers but stayed assuming a bigger one would come because of continued success, and had their stock drop. Noel Mazoni at Auburn under Tubberville is a good example. He was one of the "next big thing" guys for a couple of years, but stayed there waiting for a bigger offer. Then the bottom fell out and he became Tubby's scapegoat. He's still bouncing around as an OC, and will probably never get that shot again.
Again, no prediction. I can't see Bama or Kiffin falling off that much, but there are never any guarantees in football. I'm not sure that Rutgers or Maryland are jobs with enough exposure to be worth making the jump, but Miami, USCe, or Mizzou would be. Success at any of those schools would get him instant positive media spotlight. If he gets a solid Power 5 offer, he should jump on it.
