My Rebel friends and fans, Not that Freeze is a bad hire, but I thought Fedora was tops on the list. Was that just a bunch of Bull or did something happen? Just curious, as I thought he would have been a great hire IMO.

Thanks, if so that would make sense. Although I still think that Ole Miss would be a better gig IMO.

I think he may be from that area, and I don't really blame him for wanting out of MS

The story I heard -- from my business partner's, wife's, brother's, attorney who once met Archie -- is that Fedora was set to take the job if he had lost the CUSA CG. But when he won it, he decided to either hold out for TAMU, or for a comparable job next year.

But WTF do I know if that is even close to the truth.

I was born in Brookhaven and spent a few years on the coast in BAy St. Louis and for most of my life grew up in Baton Rouge area as a Tiger fan but still have lots of freinds and family in Mississippi and are Ole Miss fans. Good luck with Freeze,, I believe that he will make a great coach. I want all SEC teams to be tough as we are only as good as our weakest link.

Fedora will go to A&M if offered....If A&M doesn't offer, he'll likely go to UNC (who may have already offered im depending on who you talk to).

Thats why he isn't at Ole Miss.

As an OM fan, I am much more concerned with seeing tough, competitive matchups that come down to the wire, than really worrying about our W-L record.

In the end, I come to the stadium to see good football. I attended 2 games last year and 3 this year, and I didn't see a competitive team.

The LSU game was the first I have ever attended where I was confident that we had NO CHANCE of winning the game. When you lose that glimmer of hope, it is time to tear down and start over.

Ole Miss was smart to act relatively quickly on a hire....Freeze has a lot of upside, and MSU may be open very soon. Not saying a coach would see that as a better situation, but you have nothing to gain by competing against the other state SEC school for the same list of coaches.

WTF?

TAMU will have like the fourth largest athletic budget in the SEC when they come in. One of the largest endowements in the SEC. Their facilities are already bigger than half of the SEC schools, they will have Texas as their home recruiting field, their fans are crazy diehard and stay for the whole game. Why would someone pick Ole Miss over TAMU?

You will get tired of this. I watched us be competitive with LSU (9-6 through 3), USC (lost 14-12) and was with Alabama through 3. Lost all 3. Great games all 3. Competitive losing won't get it with me.

LawC, that's what I've heard. A&M should wrap this up quickly. He are in NYC with all 4 of our candidates and I think 2 or 3 are already interviewed.

The only hold up would be the mystery big names that keep getting floated vif those aren't true we will have a coach by weeks end with Fedora and Sumlin being odds on favorites over Strong and Smart

Good for both of us that tOSU scooped up Meyer and Penn St is in turmoil. We have our pick of the litter without a Texas or Florida looking for a coach this offseason

Only thing that was competitive thru 3 quarters between LSU and State was the score. LSU dominated the game. If they played again LSU wins by 30
