If he does, he's fired. So there is that.

Why I've been hesitant for years to fire Miles. I have this gut feeling that our next coach will be fired within 4 yrs.

Don't you idiots understand the process? Who is Alleva not going after that should cost him his job? LSU has money, but not the money needed to pull Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh, or Peterson away. He's offered Jimbo. What else can the man do?

Maybe not this time. He's played it close to the vest, so far. For the best.

The fact Ogeron was ever in serious contention was a good clue.

There's more to it than just this. It's basically like recruiting a 5*. There's an art to it. Plus if he misses on Jimbo and we find out that he never really pursued Herman because he put all his eggs in the jumbo basket, then he better hope door #3 surprises everybody

I didnt feel that way until after going to the game today and what a frick up that was. I mean, why in the Hell did he dig his heels in the sand and demand a game here today. I know we did all we could to play UF on the Saturday and Sunday and I can only assume he was told no. However, he didnt have to be so head strong with the game being played here today. Now , we have murderer's row next year with 5 fricking SEC games on the road. I dont care who the new coach is , unless you are SABAN, that is a hard row to hoe.

We don't even know that he really was seriously considered. That all came from 104.5 and the fans. Did Alleva actually consider it? IMO, Jimbo and Herman were targets 1 and 2, Jimbo is in so there is no need to go after Herman.

and i'm not saying alleva will frick it up. I have no problem with alleva until he proves otherwise. I don't like the way he handled the UF hurricane fallout but other than that i'm pretty indifferent. Not firing Miles is not Alleva's fault. His hands were tied.

There's an art to it? WTF are you talking about? There's no art. There's money, guaranteed contracts, spending money for coordinators. That's it. Jimbo has been offered already, and Herman knows we're very interested. What's missing?
