Why are we getting into a bidding war for Chavis?

Let him go!
He's not worth $600K

I agree. He's a fundamentally sound coach and players love playing for him, but his scheme is just alright. He's a good DC. 600K is for great DC's imo.

No idea. People want consistency in the coaching staff, and think it's important. And it is, to a certain extent.
However, I'll take Smart or Holt any day over Chavis.
Watching the soft zone get picked apart this year was painful. I want a young, energetic coach for a DC who calls an aggressive, "in your face" type of defense (like we used to have...).

I will never complain about a D that keeps us in every game, but I am with you on the aggressive D. I would rather an attacking D that keeps the offense (QB) out of rhythm but gives up some big plays. No way we should pay Chavis more than he is getting now.

it kept us in every game and letting the opponent convert any 3rd down they wanted to in order to grind out clock and keep us off the field kept the other team in nearly every game as well
Chavis is a huge step up from peveto and the other retard but we shouldn't be afraid to lose him unless you are afraid that your head coach is not smart enough to make a decent replacement hire. And if that is so, well there is a bigger prob.

And hire Kirby Smart. He wants to branch out from under Saban.
