When rumors first started circulating that Canada was leaving, Ensminger was the one guy that O specifically mentioned as being the replacement. You don’t just name-drop someone like that unless it’s already planned. Perhaps some others were contacted, but this was a done deal long ago.

Yep, idiots in here were in denial.

It's only for the bowl they said, he doesn't want the job they said

They said it because Esminger himself said it

I don't think it's surprise as much as it is people we're hoping that this time something would change. It's underwhelming hire after underwhelming hire and that's why you see people grasping at every rumor that comes across. We want so bad for them to hire coaches and administrators that will bring us back to competing for championships that we can't fricking stand it. People are tired of being let down by this football program and it's now becoming a every year thing. With Les, there was always a chance of having a really good year, but now everyone knows what's coming. They have single handledly destroyed this football program in 1 1/2 seasons. Everyone can see it coming and they just hoping that someone will step up and force them to hire people that will put USB back on top.

Unfortunately, until a lot of changes are made in the upper echelons of this university nothing will change. They don't care about sports like Emmert and others used to. They don't understand how important the football program is to this university. All they care about is money and as long as the money keeps coming in they aren't gonna do a fricking thing to change the direction. It's sad to watch and everyone is so tired of watching this team be in downward spiral.

Honesty I think most of us are not surprised, but we were hoping really deeply that they would make an effort this time.
I’m officially done with this administration.
Hire who you want, it’s your program, but you lied to the fans.

I didn't know what to think when everyone was melting down about Aranda to aTm. That hire told me to wait until it's official. That's not denial
