I know most people will think differently but if you can’t get Matt Campbell, who I would make tell me no, I would want a defensive guy as the head coach. More specifically Venables or Aranda. I believe there are more good OC’s out there than DC’s so you can have a DC being heavily influenced by the head coach and let the OC do his thing under some influence from the head coach.

Eric Bienemy
From his wikipedia:
quote:
While at Colorado, Bieniemy was arrested following a February 1988 bar fight.[4] Both Bieniemy and teammate Kanavis McGhee pleaded no contest—McGhee to a charge of second-degree assault, and Bieniemy to charges of disorderly conduct and fighting in public. They received deferred sentences and were ordered to perform community service. They were also subjected to unspecified disciplinary action by McCartney.[5] Also, on July 4, 1990, Bieniemy pleaded no contest in an incident in which he was accused of shoving a firefighter who had responded to his mother's house in Denver to douse a garage fire. Bieniemy received an eight-month suspended sentence[6] and was suspended for one game
quote:
On September 27, 1993, Bieniemy was arrested in Boulder, Colorado for allegedly harassing a parking attendant.[9] According to the police report, "Bieniemy was with five friends in a parking lot when he allegedly approached a lot attendant from behind and grabbed her by the neck. The victim told police the contact was not painful, but it startled her. She said the man also made comments while holding her."[10] As a result of this incident, Bieniemy was banned from the University of Colorado Boulder campus for one year. [11]
Seems like a good fit.

Wow, didn’t realize that about Bienemy. Wonder if that has kept him from a HC shot in the NFL. All the pundits pimp him as HC material.

I mean, those incidents happened a long time ago. If I recall, Orgeron has had some similar types of incidents, so obviously that doesn't completely blacklist him.
But in todays clown world, shite that happened 30 years ago can sink your chances at advancement.
I think Bienemy would be a solid hire FWIW.

Change that from a firefighter to a cop next time and watch the 5-stars really start to pour in.
