If Vegas had odds on it, Tulane would have likely been favored to make the playoffs before LSU in the 12 team format. Much easier for them to win the AAC than it is for LSU to be a top 10-11 team.

Clearly OP was referring to this season, and the odds of Tulane making it were actually pretty good. It was always them or Boise State I believe

Just a little bit. With their schedule you can lose to Ole Miss by 5 TDs and still get in.

The 1000-1 statement is pretty dumb by OP. There was already precedent the year before the 12 team playoff that Tulane could easily make the playoff. Had it been expanded that year they beat USC in the bowl game they would’ve been in

This is the coaching changes board. What’s Tulane got to do with Lane Kiffin?

You play weak teams and boost your wins, then lose when you finally play a team with a pulse. (See mighty Astroglide & Mechanical as a perfect example) That being said, this current LSU team would not score many points on Tulane. The Offense is even worse now with Frank Wilson and Alex Atkinls calling the shots than it was with Brian Kelly and Joe Sloan;. (It was much more effective with a healthy Nussmeier than with MVB) Willie Fritz built Tuck Fulane back up to a respectable level and Jon Sumrall has kept it going. The SEC seriously needs to invite TF back into the Conference and Oklahoma State as well. That fixes the season ending in-state rivalry game for both LSU and Oklahoma. (Many on here remember the LSU-TF rivalry and how intense it was) Tulane fans are carbon copies of Southwest Louisiana Junior College fans. They're extremely jealous of "Big Brother" and don't like LSU. This makes it more satisfying to kick their arse and shut em up.

LOL, can you imagine if little Tulane had to ever face off against a Top Ten Team with a Heisman QB?

They would lose by 100!
