Who will replace Kiffin at LSU when he gets offered a job next year?

Its just stupid to think if Lane were to take the LSU OC job that we wont be looking to find a HC job next year.
If Ed Orgeron really thought he could build something at LSU he would be looking for a long term OC and not just his buddy who is a temporary fix.
Give me a guy who has a high probability to be here a few years.

So true.... plus the other guys on our "list" are much better play callers. JMHO though.

Do you think Coach O is long term?
Coach O isn't thinking long term because his tenure is based on winning next year period

Who will be our head coach in 15 years?
Jesus Christ!

A lot of these threads are repetitive and, by necessity, the responses are also repetitive, but:
Who is going to hire him, honestly. He hasn't sniffed a job the past three years, despite have a great run at Alabama. He's missed out on, reportedly, Maryland, Oregon, Houston and USF over just the past two years. Maybe other jobs we don't know about.
What job is opening up next year that you think he could get, without taking a substantial pay cut?
I think for him to get another HC job, he's going to have to really lower his standards and go to a Western Kentucky type school.
He's failed 3 times as a head coach. Find me a coach that received 4 chances.

Agreed Cyborg...coaching at LSU will be as close to a HC at a major program in short term for him. Coach O will give him full reign at LSU ; Coach O's job depends on it and he isn't stupid where is Coach O's next move after LSU ?

why?
Personally I'd rather coordinators that other people want to hire the "lifers"

I want Kiffin because he's a great offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Why is everyone is so sure he'll land a job next year? He's won 3 straight SEC championships with 3 first-year starting quarterbacks and he isn't going to land a head job this year.
I don't think it's completely out of the question that Kiffin would be here 2-3 years. You just never know. Shouldn't be a reason not to hire him. News flash: Every offensive coordinator wants to be a head coach. Anyone we hire here could bolt after a year or two if he's really successful.

It almost sounds like y'all are more dependent on coordinators than your head coach. Here's a hint: If you're coordinator is there longer than 2-3 years, you probably have the guy that everybody else wants you to keep.

You act like coordinator at a high profile school is a long term position and Kiffin is the only potential coordinator that could possibly leave for a HC job in a year or 2.
If the coordinator is successful at a big time program, it won't be long before he's being mentioned as a candidate for G5 or lower tier P5 head coaching openings. Don't be surprised if Dave Aranda's name is brought up in the next year or so as a candidate for a HC job somewhere.

Lee Miles next year!
You guys never cease to amaze. Haven't hired an OC yet and worrying about replacing the someone we haven't hired.

That is the problem with hiring a coordinator dependent coach.
On the flip side, if kiffin were to be here for just 1 year I would assume that it would have to be a very good year.
