Who are the hot names out there for DC positions?

What about Randy Shannon? His Miami defenses were always good when he was just the coordinator.

my guess would be a current NFL defensive position coach. maybe one that Saban has coached with in the past. Someone like Richard Smith or Travis Jones.
He's not bringing in a proven DC like Shannon. They would butt heads too much.

That's true. Maybe wants someone with that much experience so that he could focus on other things more. I doubt he would pick him though.

Saban will promote from withing or hire back a coach who used to coach with him.
He doesn't want or need anyone with an opinion different from his.

You mean who will Bama get as HC after Saban leaves in the offseason?

I really can't see it making much of a difference.
