I think they should go all in on Leach.. revive the program and bring a little culture shock into Knoxville

Campbell
I think whats He’s done at Iowa State has been incredibly impressive.

SEC needs to get back to stealing the best and brightest from other P5 schools.

It seems crazy on the surface, but I'd bet he'd give Tennessee 4-5 good years before stepping aside.

Tressel was a damned good coach. His offenses made Les Miles look like Steve Spurrier, but his teams won a ton of games over the years.

Then why not hire Miles instead?

They need a big-name established coach, not some young up-and-comer.

Stoops, Tressel, Miles, etc

Kelly, Mullen, Petrino , leach ect . They would all be good hires and cheaper then they would pay Gruden .

With Campbell’s crazy buyout he is likely stuck at Iowa State till it comes down.

I agree with this. I think Tennessee is a sleeping giant with the right coach.

Yeah 10mil is tough to swallow on a guy that still has a bit of a gamble attached to him. If he holds it up for 2 more seasons though whichever schools that are looking then will be fighting for him.

To the OPs question:

I'm starting to think that UT is waiting on what happens with uf and kelly. If they get him they will definitely need to go big. One last push for Gruden. Then there are a lot of solid names in this post.

If anything at this point it'll be UT, and uf to pick first once the Gudend/kelly push is over. Then all the rest that decided to get into this coaching carousel can go after who is left.

Also....i asked days ago and not sure if I got a response, but why is Schaino not a name being thrown around.

Baggage somewhere??

Would be a good hire for someone, but I'm not sure he'd do well in the SEC. Not sure why he hasn't gotten a HC job since washing out in Tampa, but the rumor was that he has/had a reputation of being extraordinarily difficult to work with when it comes to ADs, assistant coaches and pro scouts.

He'd be a good fit at Nebraska if Frost doesn't happen.

Maybe it’s because he hasn’t been a head coach in college for years or that he didn’t coach a big program. Could be his failure in the NFL . He would be a decent choice for Ole Miss .

I find this profoundly ironic coming from a Florida fan right now.

Ok. Didnt know all of that.

He's been DC for meyer a couple yrs now, has some nfl experience good or bad it doesnt matter, and did well at building up a school like rutgers. Some solid signs for him to get a solid P5 school.

Does seem like a good NEB fit being in the conf already, and would be a still for ole miss with his rebuilding experience.

Now all the other stuff is a different deal for sure.
