I'd imagine if Saban intimated an interest in the AD job, Battle would see the writing on the wall. The only reason I think he might is I remember reading Saban taking an interest in UA's other sports and getting to know the coaches...a good primer for the AD position.
Like I said, I don't see him playing golf, so there is another career ahead for him, somewhere.

Wilson is worth his weight in gold.
Well, okay then, I can call off the Colombians.

He sort of tried to at Mich St (became very close with the basketball program and Coach Izzo and I think he didn't like the outcome of that break when he left for LSU so he really hasn't at other stops, jmho though)
The most important factor he has had at Bama that I think he learned a lot from Mal on is the fundraising aspect...Mal was one of the best and Saban has done a ton for a few of his own non-profits in Ttown like "Nick's kids"
I could totally see him being the AD in like 2 more years while Terry continues her real estate career

I like Jimbo, but I do not think he will leave Florida State for Texas. If he does win the BCS championship, I could possible see him leaving for the big bucks, but my gut tells me no.

Sources will be screaming after the NCG that he is gonna talk to Texas I'd be willing to bet

I have no idea who Texas is going to get but the longer they go without interviewing or hiring someone..the greater the chance someone is losing a coach!!!

I agree that Jimbo would be a good fit and I too believe he would seriously consider taking the Texas job. He was upset with FSU last season when a lot of their arse. coaches were hired away because FSU is poor compared to who they are competing against and couldn't come close to matching their offers.

quote:You really are clueless.
He would OWN the state of La with those 2 supplanted in Austin
1. At Texas there is really no need to go out of State.
2. Frank and Burns are New Orleans heavy.
3. Neither have gotten enough players away from LSU in LA to say they would OWN anything.
Frank's most successful recruits while at UM and UTk were kids not offered by LSU. Burton got nobody while at Tulane and Clemson that LSU wanted. At Al Obama he's gotten who? Collins? That was more the little fella. Lacy? That was ALL John Curtis' miraculous Summer School. No others that LSU wanted.

Ok on longevity you can say that all you want too Bobby Bowden STARTED the program at FSU....let that sink in I know a couple people in Bham who are good friends with the Fishers and he would leave Tallahassee for a better job offer in a heartbeat, he's still undervalued and he knows it, doesn't particularly like the AD
