sdv....that is exactly why this is so funny. while these bammers keep convincing themselves of reasons why saban is staying (state repeat believe). while the same bammers mock fans of other teams for stating why saban will leave.
let's agree on one thing, saban is still fair game until texas fills the position.
before you come at me, go look at my post history on the cc board. this is all pure entertainment. nothing more.

what is the buyout?
do you know?....NO
even if there is one, can/will texas pay it? yes
he is still an option no matter how good jimbo might be. accept it and move on.

There's not a buyout...hasn't been one on his contract in a few years
He gets calls every year from NFL teams to other colleges gauging interest and its all still the same answer
Texas is not gonna throw out a 7-10 yr contract to a guy in his mid-60's

no buyout? explain to me why he is not an option.
i am NOT making a prediction that saban leaves. i just do not understand why he has come off of the list because he signed an extension that has no buyout. accept the fact that he is still an option.

I already did explain the reasons in the OP
The most obvious is age and if you say that is a non-factor...it is
Saban will coach 3 more years at the most and Texas wants to offer their next HC 7-10 yr contract, not worth offering that to him at his stage n his career

Funny how they accuse LSU fans of being obsessed with Saban, posting on topics that don't involve us, yet after the contract extension supposedly settled the issue, gumps start and post way more in threads regarding the UT coaching position than UT fans do. Sorry for getting off topic.

So you're saying Saban to Texas. I'm buying.

Although TLDR, I do agree with the OP. There's still a chance Saban ends up in Texas.

Saban isn't going anywhere
After watching his clusterfricks against Auburn, that might be real good news!

I want you to take a good long look at this board, then take a look at your post and rethink what you posted
It is pretty ironic

I agree but I wonder, he is such a workaholic, if he will go the way of Bryant. Can't imagine him on the golf course...maybe another position in the AD?

Saban replaces Hervé Villechaize as Tattoo on the upcoming return of Fantasy Island.

Bellycheck is going to have to hit the tanning booth to get the Ricardo Montalban gig.

It is just as bad for LSU with Saban at Texas
I read an email 3 months ago (I've seen the Saban to Browns DONE DEAL email, and the Saban to Penn St DONE DEAL email from coaching buddy of mine
they are masterpieces concocted by Sexton)
In the email of course stated Saban to Texas DONE DEAL, will keep only 1 staff member (likely Bo Davis, email didnt say though)
Email also stated he would bring a few staffers with him, Burton Burns, Scott Cochran, and bring 1 very important piece in from LSU's staff...Frank Wilson and it stated the reason as being Saban knows just how important a couple pieces can be to quick success at a school and he sees Leonard Fournette as that type of talent.
By removing Frank from LSU and Burns from Bama he would realistically cut Bama and LSU's chances by 90% of landing him and almost certainly make it a slam dunk pick for Fournette.
I didn't believe any of it because just like the other 2 emails it was all just speculation, but if it happens do you think it's he came calling for Frank could LSU and Miles recover recruiting wise?
He would OWN the state of La with those 2 supplanted in Austin
I didn't ever want to discuss that email because it was so much filler material but I did for you guys to realize Saban switching to Texas as a possibility wouldn't be a huge sigh of relief like many LSU fans act like
JMHO

Many people I've heard believe Battle was a filler AD for until Saban decides to retire as Alabama's HC and take over as AD and that is from people within Bama's AD that talk like he wants that job.
I am sure he'd be dedicated to the job but I'm also skeptical about his business tactics
I will say this though...a nasty rumor that I think might have some truth to it was that this last "pause" shall I say to sign his extension was for a simple reason...to make Battle sweat and feel the heat, not because he was flirting or considering other jobs or even because of recruiting, but because he hasn't negotiated anything with Battle before and he disliked the way Battle was treating the negotiations. Bill Battle is a person who negotiated in his previous job with multi-billionaires and other shrewd businessmen like himself who attempt to squeeze every penny out of every resource. Vastly different from the man who hired Saban, Mal Moore (R.I.P.) who always sat with Saban and discussed everything, when Mal passed it took a piece of him I think.
