I'm more than sure we all agree that Lsu is a qb and good play caller away from winning the sec. In no particular order here are your choices. Which coach comes in next year and get LSU to Atlanta with Aranda on staff?

1) Jimbo Fisher excellent recruiter, excellent qb coach, good play caller.

2) Dan Mullen okay recruiter, good qb coach, excellent play caller.

3) Ed Ogeron excellent recruiter, terrible qb coach, terrible play caller

4) Tom Herman okay recruiter, good qb coach, good play caller

5) Art Briles good recruiter, excellent qb coach, excellent play caller

6) Lane Kiffin good recruiter, good qb coach, excellent play caller

7) Chris Petersen good recruiter, good qb coach, good play caller

8) Larry Fedora okay recruiter, okay qb coach, okay play caller

9) Mark Richt great recruiter, great qb coach, great play caller

10) Bobby Petrino okay recruiter, excellent qb coach, excellent play caller

11) Kliff Kingsbury okay recruiter, excellent qb coach, excellent play caller

12) Dave Aranda terrible recruiter, terrible qb coach, terrible play caller

13) Mike Gundy good recruiter, great qb coach, great play caller

My top 3 in order is below.
Coach O is 4th if these 3 say no.

Jimbo Fisher

Kliff Kingsbury

Dan Mullen

If I missed a coach post it.

If I'm Alleva, I hire Fisher. Even if he doesn't work out at LSU as the head coach, Joe can say "hey guys, at least I hired a proven QB coach with ties to Louisiana and the SEC who has won major conference and national championship titles." That's all you can ask for.

Herman has been locking Houston athletes down. Idk how you can say he's an "okay recruiter"

Edit - fwiw I'm not advocating for Herman. I just think what he's done in houston, getting great kids to stay in town when they have tons of other options and have been known to go to the SEC and Big 12, makes him more than an okay recruiter

Fisher with Aranda as the DC seems like the most logical choice.

Why would he ever call offensive plays?

You did miss the fact that he's an elite defensive play caller.

How do you know he's a terrible recruiter?

Kingsbury can call plays with the best of them and he can mix the run with that pass. He has the connection with the Texas qbs to run his system at LSU. If LSU chooses him make 0 the highest paid recruiting coordinator ever.

He's moved them from the 80s and 90s in recruiting to now being in the 20s. I'd say he's an elite recruiter.
