The stadium will be 30,000 with room for expansion up to about 50-60,000, so the stadium IS going to happen, and soon.

I'm hearing leach is a hot name, but that is just a guess....

....but Rick Dickson is a moron,

so idk what to expect.

I 'll believe it when I see it. And be realistic, most football jobs are better and don't have all the issues Tulane has.

quote:Rich Rod took 25% less than Tulane offered to take the Arizona job, sight unseen. Being in an AQ conference means a hell of a lot. There's an almost zero chance of playing for an MNC in a non-AQ conference. No one has done it yet.
I agree with you guys about "better jobs" then Tulane, but I promise you that Tulane will pay more then these so called "better jobs".

I know...it def has an impact on a candidates decision. That's why I think Tulane Is offering more money. Maybe we can get leach for 2 mil a year over maybe a unc offering 1 mil.

You're crazy if you think legit BCS conference jobs offer this low.

However, I don't think they want Leach. Maryland passed on him last year, and I don't think UNC would take a Maryland reject.
The best thing that Tulane has going for it right now is that for some reason no AQ school seems to be interested in Leach. Leach may end up needing Tulane just as much as Tulane needs Leach.

You would be suprised..... 2mil is more than most schools offer...most schools include,
Arizona
Arizona st.
Boise st.
Baylor
Boston college
Clemson
Cincy
Colorado
Uconn
Duke
Houston
Hawaii
Illinois
Indiana
Iowa st.
Kansas st.
KENTUCKY
Mich st.
Minnesota
UNC (500,000) btw, that was les then Toledo was getting paid at Tulane.(650,000)
Nc st.
Northwestern
Ohio st. (for now)
Oregon st.
Penn st.
Purdue
Usf
Syracuse
Ucla
Utah
Virginia
Wash st.
West va.
So, just because they are "aq" schools doesn't mean they have more money then Tulane. Tulane has plenty of money believe me. Tulane can "outbid" a lot of these schools if they wanted too. Hell they outbid Arizona, RR just wanted to be in the PAC 12.

Still, a coach with MNC aspirations has to go to an AQ school.

I agree 100% until Tulane gets into a better conference, the best we can do is sugar bowl....a nat. Championship game is is virtually impossible.

Find it hard to believe, but just read this:
LINK
If true, Tulane will have landed a good coach. Really thought Hudspeth would go to Ole Miss, or wait a year and be the lead candidate for Moo State.
How bad is ULL that they would lose a coach to Tulane?????

One it's just a rumor, and two, Tulane could be a lot better than it is. I'd have to say right now ULL has an easier job winning because of the academic requirements at Tulane being as high as they are in comparison.

That's one job as low as he stated and Wazzu isn't a legit job.

They need to hire Frank Wilson and just apologize for yelling at all the local media for being pissed at that suggestion.
Funny thing is Frank Wilson will turn them down just like Curtis Johnson did after he said he wanted the job but they apparently low balled him.
They need to go after a hot FCS coach at this point, if they are lucky.

First, I dont agree that they should hire Wilson and I dont think they will. Second why would fans need to apologize to local media? Fletcher Mackel is the guy who pimps Wilson every 6 seconds and almost went as far as to suggest Wilson is a better candidate than Rich Rodriguez. No need to apologize to Fletcher Mackel, he is a fricking idiot.
Frank Wilson isnt going to be stealing any LSU caliber guys at Tulane. He'll basically be getting the same type players Jason Rollins has been pulling in from NOLA the past couple years. Wilson is a RB coach he's not ready to be a head coach.

I dont know where you heard that, but I dont think they have even offered Curtis Johnson.
What's the point of recommending a guy only to say he wont take the job in the next sentence?

Wilson is respected nationally, and not just for what he's done at LSU, he'd definitely get better recruits than whoever the frick Jason Rollins is. No coach Tulane gets is going to steal recruits from LSU but if they can keep the others from TCU, Houston, USM, etc. then they're on to something.
