Tulane showing interest in Oklahoma St. Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken. LINK

Now that would be interesting. That O is what TU needs.

If they hire Haywood they will once and for all prove that the administration is actively sabotaging athletics.
What's the deal wit Haywood? He turned Miami (OH) around pretty quickly.

And then he got fired from Pitt less than 3 days after getting the job for beating his wife in public. I don't know how he did what he did a Miami, because he's always been considered a pretty mediocre coach and an even worse person.
I think Monken, or Josh Henson at Mizzou would be good candidates.

Well they tried at the best available, but doesnt look like they can land a guy who is proven. Monken and Henson are big question marks. Haywood took his team to 9 wins in his 2nd year. He has experience that those guys dont. He may not be a great coach, but obviously Tulane isnt landing one of those. Surely Haywood isnt as bad as you make him seem. Atleast not as a coach, he may very well be a horrible person.

Pretty sure that turned out to be false

He may be a better coach than I'm giving him credit for, but Tulane needs someone that's going to be a good face for the program to keep the money rolling in. Haywood is the farthest thing from that.
Monken has NFL experience. Henson would be a bigger risk and people would say 'who the frick is that?' if yall hired him, but he's recruited down here and knows the state.

If they could raise money with Toledo and his dead arse program then they should be able to with Haywood.

Two words: Mike. Leach.

Two words: Mike. Leach.
If they can't get him, things are really bad on Willow St.

Why don't they just quit acting like a football program?

The only encouraging thing is that they finally stepped up an offered an attractive package to a potential coaching candidate. (5 yr/ 10 million, BCS salary for assistants, more academic tutors and less restrictive entrance requirements.) They should be able to attract candidates. Hell, Bob Davie took the New Mexico job for $700,000.

Someone who gets fired in three years.

There's a rumor going around that the "search committee" and Dickson want to offer Leach the job and that Leach would accept. However, Cowen has vetoed that and does not want Leach under any circumstances.
Don't know how true it is, just a rumor.

This could be an interesting hire. If he could bring in that offensive system, it would be nice.

Fun Bunch, every rumor thus far has been debunked. Again, believe only 2 posters from the Tulane boards. No one else has a clue what they are talking about. They just want to claim they have inside information. They are as delusional as Fletcher Mackel.

What board are you talking about, and what posters?

I assume he's talking about yogwf.com and one of the posters is probably Oliver Blue.
