His departure is going to hurt us, a lot. This hire is going to be very important

I like thomas and wanted him to stay but some of you need to chill

Lots have it now, though.

Chicken Little’s around here.

He’s one of the best in the business at what he does, if not the best

Which is what, exactly?

Sam Petitto throw the bank at him and it locks up the state

He was the #2 rated recruiter in the SEC and #10 nationally last year, for starters

i still don't understand how he's so irreplaceable
especially since our waiver (that should have never been given in the first place) expires very soon

He changed the whole system from a dry erase board to a magnetic board. No one could work the p-touch like him.

well he's not allowed to do that anymore, so that's irrelevant

the greatness of austin thomas is just one of those things that's been widely accepted as fact but can't explain why.
again he seems to be a good recruiter but some are acting as if this is the end of days......which is just silly because that occurred last November

hell people have pointed out many times over the past week that we haven't even been good since he's been running things, and we recruited better when Frank was running that show

He's not he was taught by O and frank Wilson. He left for USC we didn't miss a beat he called us to come back

Sam Petito is the obvious choice
Posted on 12/13/17 at 1:04 pm to SippingOnPurple
Justin Vincent has to step up

This is 100% false. We gave him a raise to come back - if he called and begged for his old job back he wouldn't have received a raise. Thats just common sense.
There is a reason programs keep coming after him.

This would be my choice. Just keep him out of Reggies.

I was just about to ask what exactly he does and why this is such a huge loss? No question he was a big part of LSU's football operations, but to read the board today you would think LSU just lost the most important member of the staff.
Maybe they did? Maybe Thomas is irreplaceable? I don't know. He's obviously pretty good at whatever he does to have a fellow SEC school hire him. I just don't know what exactly he does (did) aside from serving at the main recruiter for the two Tennessee prospects from last season? Can anyone explain? I truly would like to know
