Who are the "other" guys being interviewed this week? I'm not sure I buy that reporting

We've seen all kinds of reporting about Jones being interviewed, but not a single peep about any other interviewee. We're now being told that their interviewing "a few" options this week. If that's true, who are these other options? I'm not sure that I believe that it's true. It seems to me that they are interviewing jones and saying that they have multiple candidates to reduce the blowback when they hire Jones.
To be clear--this isn't an anti-Jones post. I don't personally love the idea of hiring him, but I'm asking this question with an agnostic view as to the relative quality of his candidacy. All i'm interested in is (1) whether it's true that we're interviewing multiple candidates, and (2) if so, who the other candidates are.
Edit: Whoever runs the One Team, One Podcast account seems pretty certain that Jones is the hire and there is no other option being considered. I have no clue who runs the account or whether they have sources.

I'm curious what part of this post you read as panicking. The only thing i'm interested in is whether there are actually other candidates and who the other candidates are.

That's what is being reported. Whether you believe them or not is your choice I guess. Don't expect to get any better info from this board.

LSU had reached out to Schumann, but I doubt you hear much about who they are tbh unless someone non lsu leaks it. That's how Jones got leaked to begin with. Non LSU reporter likely saw the plane tracker in minnesota, made some calls, and threw out a tweet.

I just think it's odd that the Jones interview has seemingly been confirmed and completely validated by virtually every single person involved with the program in any capacity, yet there hasn't been the single tiniest leak with respect to any other candidate.
To be clear, IF they are indeed interviewing other candidates, then I am glad that those interviews are being kept under wraps. I just think the disproportionate reporting is strange. Not a huge deal at all--I'm just curious about it.

There's a lot of talk about leaks, but virtually all of the information on candidates and interviews have come from non-LSU sources.
NFL Network broke the Nielsen story. Starkville newspaper broke the Arnett interview. ESPN's Adam Rittenberg broke the Jones story.
I think a Cincinnati paper broke the Freeman story, but I could be wrong.

The whole thing is odd... they have known since November or sooner that Bo was not coming back. If this looks like a well prepared coaching search to anyone then WOW!! There should've been a list of at minimum 5 to 10 top prospective DC's. Either proven or up and coming guys. Bottom line it is pretty obvious that was not the case with either the OC and PGC or the DC...
Hopefully the hire is great and the defense is back to LSU standards.

I would say this is more of a result of the lsu media picking it up once the cat is out of the bag about the interview.
Hopefully the reason we aren't hearing much about the others is because both sides are being tight lipped about it.
I have given up trying to speculate too much about all this until the hire is actually made. It could be a multitude of things. Maybe they aren't interviewing anyone and they're getting ready to announce Jones. Maybe they are using Jones as a diversion while they try to close the deal with another one of the interviewees this week. Maybe jones is just one candidate in a pool of several this week and they are waiting on the rest of the interviews to make any decisions.
My guess is the last option but it's just a guess. Like I said I don't want to speculate too much because no one knows for sure. I guess we just gotta hope and pray.

What makes you think there wasn't? We have interviewed at least 4 candidates maybe more at this point. Some of those coaches may have refused to interview or discuss in the middle of the season. Some of them had seasons lasting longer than others. I wanted Nielsen and had to wait him out. That's where the big delay came in to play here.

You could make that case for the DC but the OC and PGC search seems like it went rather smooth and they got who they wanted.
