I don't believe the offense we saw at TT would be the same one we would see at LSU and not because of Miles.Because of talent. At TT Leach needed that offense to stay competitive. He didn't have enough talent to keep up with Oklahoma and Texas so he had that pass heavy offense to keep his teams close and hope the opponents made enough mistakes for his team to pull out the win.I think we;d see an offense more along the lines of Okie St.(why hire the pupil when you can hire the teacher),Oklahoma or Texas(before they couldn't run a lick).Pass influenced but still leaning on the running game to keep balance.Big
finally someone says it. Leach is a great offensive mind and can fit his offense to his personnel. He was never gonna recruit the type of kids to TT that would allow him to compete w/ the top of the Big 12, so he ran what could balance out his lack of talent. I have no doubt that a mind like him could do great things w/ the talent LSU has and is bringing in at RB. Not getting my hopes up though. These things never play out w/ the first name that pops up.

possibly, but it seems to me that, when this statement is made, more times than not it doesn't come true.

I think so. I just think people put too much stock in what he says. It's not gospel. He isn't claiming to be anything he is not.

I think he is a connected source who is right more than wrong. That puts him at the top 1% of TD posters.

I don't understand why more people don't realize this...

BP didn't say "Leach was coming"...

He said, "Miles is going to find out if Leach would be interested".

The rantards will be all over belowpar if it doesn't happen. it continually amazes me how such a large portion of society can be so fricking stupid.

I'd agree.

Also, I bet if you looked back at his OU days you'd see a good bit more balance. Probably still 70/30 pass, but not the 85/15 type of stuff he did at Tech.

Leach is brilliant; he's not gonna pull a Gary Crowton and square peg round hole it. He'll design an offense that bets utilizes his talent.

I am hearing he wants Leach.

This could mean Miles is finally done with JJ. If he's looking at a pass happy OC, then he has to know he's also looking at a new QB

Oklahoma ranked 97th in the country in rushing the year Leach was at Oklahoma and ran the ball 296 times

His last year at Tech, he ran the ball 312 times

One thing i'll give leach. he seems to always find the right qb to run his offense. That is the kicker. Not a big fan of that style offense but i like the qb's he's had.

if by this you mean they are more talented than ULL, then yes.

but if you take the rivals Team Recruiting Rankings (I know some people think these rankings are BS but its all we have to go by) UCLA has averaged the 27th best recruiting class from 2004-2010.

he arrived at UCLA in 2008, therefore the 2004 class would have been juniors or seniors when he arrived.

When he was at USC, USC yearly had a top 5 recruiting class to work with.

But the main reason i like Chow is because he is a QB developer:

Jim McMahon, Steve Young, Ty Detmer, Philip Rivers, Carson Palmer, and Matt Leinart are all his students

Exactly. Leach threw a lot as OC at Oklahoma but it wasn't exactly Texas Tech. He plays to his strengths and hides its weaknesses. That OU team was not very good on defense but ranked 6th nationally in scoring. If you give Mike Leach:

1. R. Randle
2. R. Shepard
3. D. Peterson
4. M. Ford
5. S. Ridley
6. K. Boone
7. J. Wright
8. S. Ware
9. A. Blue
10. J. Landry
11. K. Hilliard
12. J. Hill
13. J. Fobbs
