Why has Kirby kept him around ?
Serious question, not being a smart arse

The Joe Brady name recruits itself.
College athletes know the name, and know what 2019 was. Whether it was him or not that was the main cause of 2019 recruits will come.
Caleb Williams, Gilbert were guys that Brady got/ nearly got.
Joe Brady is a better recruiter
I agree. Kelly should've bought brady on as the pgc. Caleb williams would probably commit.
I don't think it will happen but anyone who says they wouldn't take brady back in a heartbeat is an idiot.

There was talk of him being pushed out last year. The thought was he was retained for continuity for a championship run. Plus Monkin has been helping coach the WRs.

I know you're not the only UGA fan to be low on him but this
And the idea that oh he can't coach, recruit, or handle the WRs but we kept him around for continuity makes zero sense.

I’m not saying he can’t do those things. Only he’s the weakest coach we have. He’s still a good coach but UGA is looking to upgrade its staff. It’s a win for both LSU and UGA. Y’all get a solid coach and we move Monken to WR where he belongs and get a legit qb coach.

I'll stick by my original line of thinking on this one and say no way Kelly is seriously considering a guy he is not familiar with from the old guard of LSU who doesn't like to recruit.
I disagree with this perspective. First, Brady was only here for one season, just like our current OL coach (who Kelly kept). So, it's not like Brady is a deep connection to the O culture. Second, Kelly already has some really good recruiters on the staff, so he may think that he's set from the recruiting perspective. Third, Kelly may want to have another strong offensive mind to help with installing and continually updating the offense he has ran for years. Lastly, I think Kelly is confident enough in his role, and doesn't have so huge of an ego, that he'd deliberately rule out Brady as an assistant.
With all of that being said, I don't think he is being considered, and even if he was I don't think Brady would be interested. He's probably focused on an OC or assistant role in the NFL (1st) or a HC or OC role in college (2nd). Now way I think he steps back into a position coach role at the college level.

Not sure Monken left the NFL to be played by Kirby like that. Sounds more like wishful thinking.
