What's the difference between Chizik and Kiffin?

I think they both have a championship ring as an assistant and they both have sucked so far as a head coach. What else is there? Chizik seems to be taking alot harder hit than Kiffin.

Kiffin's dad will be dead before a current freshman is a senior.
OK, Kiffin doesn't have any experience as a head coach.
The Tamps 2 doesn't necessarily work that great against a spread offense. Tenn doesn't have the athletes to run the Tampa 2 either.

LSU fans would crucify Monte Kiffen since he plays a bend but don't break defense.

You honestly believe Tenn will be better than the #4 defense in the country next year? I guess time will tell.

Kiffin sucked in the NFL - that's just a tad different than sucking at Iowa State.
Pete Carroll sucked in the NFL, and Nick Saban didn't exactly set it on fire. So did Steve Spurier, and Bobby Petrino. None of them ever sucked at a second-rate college - in fact Spurrier and Petrino took a couple of crappy schools and won conference championships with them (Duke and Louisville, respectively).
Kiffin might not succeed at UT, but him failing at the Raiders doesn't mean much. On the other hand, what CHizik did at Iowa State - leaving them worse than he found them - is a huge red flag.

Both teams will run a Tampa Two. Chizik studied under Kiffin(Elder) at Tampa Bay.
Tampa Two is a good scheme and I am sure both coaches will do ok with it against the spread.
BTW, which version of the spread are you referring to: spread option, spread run, spread-pass and so on.

Kiffin did not even have control of his staff at Oakland (wanted to fire the DC, Davis said no). He was set up to fail.

Since I'm usually slamming him on TD, the West Virginia Midget Demon took a 6-5 Toldedo team and made them a 9-2 (losses to Central Michigan and Navy) MAC C0-Champ before "Sabaning" to Michigan State.
