Let's just say "from days gone by and many loaves of bread shared". Ask yourself this? What is the name of the meeting room on the Northwest corner of Tiger Stadium? Then tie a "son-in-law" to the name, whose has a "best friend" and "former teammate" lawyer and the number '66 and a particular bowl game. That's all I can give you, you will have to "run the rabbit".

Lawton and Duhon = BIG MONEY.
Both are from Sulphur area (Carlyss).
I did not know Mike was a lawyer. I thought he was a financial man. (Calcasieu Marine).
He's more than a friend. He married into the Lawton/Gray/Burton family.
Know them both socially but not close. What is their position?

Hardly, if you knew me! But, feel free to use that "well overused" term on this board to your heart's content....
I apologize, I shouldn't have said that. I was a little drunk last night. Sorry.

That's OK, I have been there many times myself. You might even think, the older I have become, the less nights I would have like that, but that's the great part of growing up in South Louisiana; fortunately, we still get to have a few of those nights every now and then. Besides, hell, you never know, I might be a great rep for Massengill.

He isn't, his close personal friend Mike Pharis is. I haven't talked to Mike since early in the season, so I really can't tell you, but I would say you know the Lawton/Burton name and what the "Lawton Room" is, so you know that as always, Lil Jack, Mike and the "crew" are going to have some input that's for sure.

Pretty good observation. And it certainly has done it's share of following in that regard and wooing bowl committee members over the years hasn't it?

share what you can
Be happy to, but only if it's worth sharing and it's coming from someone that I believe is still "in the circle" and credible. Way too much speculation and conjecture on this board already for me to contribute to that. I am nothing special, just still have some "old friends" who have stayed active in "the game".

A personal favorite for me would be Rich Rodriguez. Not saying that's a reasonable possibility, just think he is a "kid magnate" and an excellent coach. He kept WV's head's up after the USF loss and focused and look at where they are. IMHO, he could be tough to deal with with the talent on this team, the resources at LSU, and the talent immediately surrounding us, and then throw in his recruiting contacts around the country.
Regarding "front runners and favorites"; man with the LSU "politics" I'm not sure the pro's in Vegas could handicap "front runners" and "favorites" because of the three factions that exisit?
