The state of Kansas has a great JUCO presence and you can work those schools to get some top notch players. Bill Snyder was doing that at Kansas State. It can be very hit or miss but that probably is going to be your best bet to get decent players.

Next year won’t be pretty

He finished in the 70s in recruiting and his best player is currently suspended

It’s a true rebuild and I think 2020 they can get to 6 wins if he brings in a legit QB

Miles is 65. He will be there long enough to get a decent foundation laid, and may even make a bowl or two. It will be the following hire that has to take Kansas over the hump though.

I agree with this. It will be similar to OkSt. KU is in even worst shape, but he will get the ball rolling.

I think Les has a deal with his buddy Jeff Long to be at Kansas for 3-4 years, improve the talent, create some stability with the program, and have it ready for someone else to take it over in better condition than he found it.

Essentially he's asking Les to pull the program out of the gutter and win 5-6 games a year and get a little more talent and fan support.

This Kansas program will not turn around quickly.

MUCH worse shape and they don't have T.Boone Pickens bank rolling the Kansas football program.

Well O is getting lauded as a hero for bringing a 9-3 team in 2015 to 10-3 in 2018, so I’d say if Miles gets KU to 4-8 by 2021 he’ll have earned the same amount of respect

That whole wheat/corn belt produces some big, strong kids. Les knows the games are won in the trenches.

The big 12 also plays pretty good ball, but doesn't really play defense on a year round basis. I think Les will try to cut offensive production of opponents by playing tougher defense than they are used to.

Les will probably not make them a title contender, but he'll make them a respectable and relevant team again.

I don't think a lot of people realize how difficult it will be to build a program like Kansas into a contender, much less a 65 year old head coach on his last legs. Kansas is arguably the worst P5 program of all time and is in an area of the country desolate of talent. If Les has them in bowls most years, that would be a massive success at Kansas.
