. . . for ya'll to quit trying to kill our stability by creating/facilitating a Miles-to-Michigan story with absolutely no basis?

A flat out, public, direct affirmation that he will be back at LSU next year? Done.

A signed reaffirmation of his intentions with a contract and extension providing a huge raise in view of his SEC Championship, and potentially huger raise after the National Championship? Done.

Public and direct refutation of all reports that any such talks are or have ever taken place by every single person who would be involved in such talks (Miles, LSU AD, LSU President, Miles' agent, Michigan AD, etc.)? Done.

Recanting of reports of the deal by a public media figure, a type that never under any circumstances admits they were wrong unless absolutely forced to (as the fact Rather still won't admit he was wrong to run the forged-letter story)? Done.

So I ask all of you, you who keep insisting on keeping the rumors alive to ensure that whatever possible damage could be done to our recruiting is absolutely guaranteed to be as bad as possible, you who swear up and down that Miles is ruining our program with stories you fabricate and sustain; I ask you, what, exactly, would it take for y'all to shut the hell up about it?

Most likely the only thing to do it would be a new buyout clause with a penalty of at least the GNP of the top three industrialized nations...combined, or death by hanging.

Short of that, every time Coach Miles is seen wearing a blue tie...even 10 years hence...the Rantards will hail it as certain evidence of his imminent departure.

Meeting? When, and according to whom? A phone call is not a "meeting." But even if you do count it as a "meeting," why would Miles be any more likely than Schiano at this point? Schiano actually did meet with them regarding the job, actually discussed it with them, and actually did some act that expressed interest in the job. Miles never has.

However, Miles is the top priority. The Free Press reported that Miles talked to Athletic Director Bill Martin and president Mary Sue Coleman by phone on Friday. It goes deeper than that. A U-M official met with Miles secretly the following morning.

People aren't happy on the internet unless they are stirring shite. It's a "look at me" mentality that pervades this medium. Because you can't see or hear the other person, they have to shout even louder than if they were on TV or the Radio to try to get attention. Coupled with that the anonymity of it all creates speculation, lies and innuendo that are breaking down the rules of polite communication as they have been established over hundreds of years.

its not really stirring shite up at all. its still a very real possibility. Is it likely? I don't think, but to say this thing is completely dead means you probably have your head up your arse

Are you asking if I can take 10 faggy poems and make them not-so-faggy, thereby "righting" them? Yeah, I can do that.

Fixed it for you. I probably could, but I'm not sure how to type with a lisp.

Very kind of you to ask, though. Not.

No, if you had any evidence that he "demanded" the same, "low" buyout, then that might be construed as a "basis." Did you get that from Les, Skip, O'Keefe or Bass? Or did you get it from Herbie and his ilk?

As for him talking with Michigan, yes, that is no basis. Miles talked to Michigan people many times over the last three years. As well as Bama people, Georgia people, Florida people, Boston College people, Miami people; would you regard all those conversations as "basis" for proving Miles is going to/has taken a job at all those places? Jim Tressel talked to LSU people earlier this year; does that convince you that he is leaving Ohio State to come coach here?

miles is involved in the michigan coaching search and already had to deal with michigan leaking him going there

why would he EVER contact them until they hire a new coach? how stupid is miles?

you think he just figured the LSU fanbase wouldn't care?
