Did Miles ever say it was his "dream job?" I heard the media saying plenty about it being his dream job since he went to UM and all, but I never heard Miles say anything about it.

imho, I think it was the timing of Carr's resignation that sent an implicit message Les very clearly understood (i.e. Carr would do everything he could to informally and privately nudge Michigan away from Miles). I don't know how the AD asking for permission fits into all this. But it seems clear to me that had Carr and the administration been on the same page in regards to who they wanted as his successor Michigan would have asked Carr to remain on until the best time to approach the 'chosen replacement'.

You may have deep pockets at Michigan; but, you cheated sure didn't pay Carr all those years.

I think the Skipper played a little hard ball with Miles. I think he told him to announce that he was going to stay or go ahead and leave before the SEC CG.

Can a guy just like his job and where he is at in life? I'm sorry but money talks and bullshite walks. We seen the bullshite walk when Nick left. Lets see how much we are going to pay him to stay. I think Les is looking at a good chuck of cash for staying. LSU has the money. The question is do they want to spend it..

I think Les realized the people in power at UM that mattered to him were not in control of the situation

So I guess Miles is going to pass on the chance to coach in a National Champioship? And leave LSU I doubt it.

Other coaches. They were the plan.

Les was plan "B"

What is plan "C" for UM now?

I would like for them to find a good coach, they still have time.

I get that there are deep pockets at Michigan. A fellow Wolverine said that Big Blue generates x millions with athletics and surpasses LSU by at least 10 million.

With that said, why was Coach Carr paid so little compared to the coaches in the SEC and not all of them have won a National Championship like Carr and none of them come close to the revenue Big Blue generates?

That could tell you something.
And wanting the next coach to keep some of Carrs Asst.'s. They are still on the UM payroll.
