What should be more important to LSU than Saban's decision?

Cam Cameron not getting plucked out of LSU. The school really needs to get this guy locked up with some real financial commitment. In my mind, he would be a catastrophic loss to this staff, and the recruiting efforts on offense.

I think we only got a taste last year of what he's going to mean to this passing game in the long run.

And no, this isn't Cam making this post. :)

Uhhh...the guy made well over a million dollars this season and will for the foreseeable future as an assistant coach. What more do you want?

quote:

The school announced Wednesday that Cam Cameron will receive a three-year, $3.4 million salary package. He is set to make $600,000 in 2013, $1.3 million in 2014 and $1.5 million in 2015.

Based on reports of what offensive coordinators are making at other Southeastern Conference schools, Cameron would apparently become the highest-paid play caller in the SEC. Alabama’s Doug Nussmeier was the highest-paid in the conference last season among its 13 public schools (Vanderbilt does not have to release salary figures) at $590,000.

The Ravens paid the bill of the rest of his contract for this season - which is why it is so low compared to the next two seasons.

He made $600,000 this year.

His contract is actually exactly what this guy wants.

This year: 600K
2014: 1.3 million
2015: 1.5 million

--for some comparison, Kirby Smart made 900K in 2012, $1.15 million this year and will make 1.35 million his last 2

And what did the Ravens pay him this year?

That's a handy piece of information that you conveniently left out of your post.

No NFL team wants him. Cam Cameron is not a NFL quality offensive coordinator.

Actually, the assistant list that just came out shows him at $600K. But, it's not just about salary, it's the fact that he has got to be an extremely hot commodity with the quick offensive turnaround job he's done, maybe for even a HC job.

The Ravens never disclosed that information.

He also has a $1 million buyout if he leaves

Have you read his resume? Go back to your Noles boards, and quit trolling here!

So you want LSU to pay him $1.3 million on top of what the Ravens are going to pay him for 2013?

He's one of the top paid assistant coaches in the country. What do you want them to do?

He was a coordinator in the NFL for 10 years and had some very, very good offenses despite having young QBs.

If Jim Haslett can continue to get hired, Cam could too. NFL teams wouldn't pay him as much though and he has a buyout

Like I said, I'm not just talking about this years pay structure. I'm just hoping we have a plan to keep him here for a long time.

You don't think Miles is worried about making sure that Cameron will be a part of the LSU program for years to come?

You think he is just asleep at the wheel?

You think that the LSU board is just ignorant to the fact that Cameron was in large part responsible for producing the best LSU offense in the last 10 years?

His contract with the Ravens should have nothing to do with LSU paying him, unless it states that they are just paying the difference

We also don't know if the Ravens are even paying him this year.

He's getting paid over $600K from the Ravens this year.

Why does it matter, from his standpoint, if the Ravens are paying him unless they are just paying a difference?

His potential salary doesn't go down if he's getting paid somewhere else, if anything it gives him a chance to make more (unless they are paying a difference)

Link?

btw, the Ravens are 29th in the NFL in yards and 24th in ppg.

2012: 16/10
2011: 15/12

they [Ravens] are just paying the difference.

Is it really that difficult to comprehend?
