What makes you think Miles is going to rid himself of Crowton?

We went 9-4 last season with a shitty 112th ranked offense and Miles didn't get rid of him then. One year later we're 10-2 and Miles, along with the majority of our fans, will be able to look back on this season and see it as a successful one. We have an offense that has slightly better stats and results than the year before. With all that in mind, as much as it disgust me, I do not see Miles getting rid of Crowton. Many were convinced that Miles was going to get rid of Crowton last year and he didn't. What have you seen to make you think that he will pull the trigger this year?

Because last year we were one year removed from good offensive production with a terrible defense. Plus there was an excuse with "young" quarterbacks. This year we had two junior quarterbacks and there was essentially no significant improvement in offensive production from last year. But maybe I'm just being hopeful.

Yeah I think the lack of an experienced quarterback and wanting some certainty as far as their progression goes last year made more sense. But it doesn't make any sense at this point.

That's 3 consecutive years with bad offensive numbers and an extremely low offensive output. The chances have been given time and again. I think 3 seasons is enough time for any chance at a recovery regardless of what players we have. We end the regular season being 93rd ranked on offense. Not nearly good enough. Imagine, we could have gone undefeated with a decent offense.

i don't think he will, unless there is pressure from above miles.

10-2 doesn't mean shite when your defense saved your arse plenty of times. We really shouldn't have won a couple of the games we did, and it's only our defense that bailed us out, and dumb luck that Tennessee still can't count in college. 
10-2 or not, his offense is unacceptable for a field littered in 5 star, blue chip recruits. We have some of, if not the best athletes in the nation. The inexperienced QB excuse is no more. It's time for Miles to just part ways with him.

And it is obvious if we had a decent or slightly above average offense we could easily be 12-0 right now.

LSU's offense was absolutely horrible the second half the 08 season...and has continue into this year. Almost 3 straight seasons of terrible offenses. If you keep this dipshit, someone is going to end up kidnapping Crowton and throwing the key away.

My son was watching the UT game this morning.
I forgot how awful we were/are on offense..
10-2 is just darn lucky..
Crowton is awful, has been awful and needs to be fired because JJ is still pretty much awful and our offensive stats for an elite program 3 years in a row are awful
he runs the offense, he is the highest paid with the worst results..
Crowton will be fired...You heard it here first!

I thought the story from last year was that miles wanted to get rid of crowton but we didn't want to foot the bill for the buyout. That's the impression we were given, so I see no reason that Crowton will be kept around if that is the case

Crowton will not be here and it doesn't matter if he is fired, his contract isn't renewed, or if he is allowed to take another job. Malleveto wasn't fired either but everyone knows what happened.

belowpar is said to be a reliable source, and acording to him, Miles considered getting rid of Crowton last year. The offense is still bad, so why wouldn't crowton still be on the hot seat.

I'd be surprised if he does, considering CLM's attachment to JJ. If Miles were to bring in a new OC, that would mean that JJ would have to learn an entirely new system. Given his inability to grasp the current one, this would almost eliminate JJ from the QB competition, especially if we land Mett. Therefore, I don't see CLM making a change due to his affinity for JJ. JMO and I hope I am wrong.

Mettenberger is a Pro QB. He was recruited in a system for that, it was what Georgia runs and it is probably what he is most comfortable in. I could definitely see LSU telling him they're going Pro. JJ is the only dual threat QB on the roster and he isn't even a true runner...he is not a natural dual threat. He was forced in that role because he lacked in the pass game.
It is obvious Crowton can't develop QBs, so I don't see how Miles can keep him. IMO, almost surely be a Pro offense. LSU has the personnel to fit a Pro better than a Spread right now, although a Spread could work...
