What is the latest date LSU could hire a DC and still be ready for spring practice?

Title. At what point does it start to get to be "too late"? Not trying to say the sky is falling or anything--just curious.

My guess is it all depends on who they hire. Will they come in and overhaul the whole defense (I don't think this is likely) or do they come in and try to run something similar to last year but actually teach the kids how to play the position in that scheme?
I mean every day helps, but I am not going to get panicked on the timing until we start getting past NSD

Keep in mind that "O" can run the defense for spring practice if necessary.
Much more important to make the right hire that to be concerned with having someone in place by a specific date.

If we do not have a DC for spring practice then this team is screwed. You have to have your a scheme and plan in place along with other defensive hires that come with that DC. We’ll have someone by mid February
