quote:i'll call bullshite. ultimately, the top half of the SEC can pay mega money. after money, there are other factors to consider, namely recruiting ability, city/town the job is located in, program history/prestige. money is very important, but would you rather coach in starkvegas for $6M/yr or athens for $5M/yr?
SEC jobs ranking in my opinion
1 The most $$$$ paid
...
14 The least $$$$ paid

You do not always get a 2nd chance in life, and there are not that many destination jobs across the country.
Tough decision facing Les Miles, does he stay at a program where he reached its ceiling in 07 and was beaten by one destination job and passed on another or does he jump at what is normally a once in a life time opportunity, one that he now has a 2nd chance at, and try to compete with Saban for the amount of first place rings, crystal footballs, and bronze statues he can stockpile at a destination job?
Saban realized this, it is why he was so eager to leave LSU as well.

Easier to recruit at Lsu than bama, that + equal facilities means its a better job

Agreed - money isn't everything. However, love doesn't pay the light bill. The obvious answer to your question is Athens for 5M/yr, and it's the answer I would give as well. From a professional standpoint, I've got to imagine a job is a job.

I know I'm probably gonna get blasted for saying this but I think UGA job is the best due to its potential. If Saban would go to UGA, it would be game over for CFB.
That is a state he would not have to leave the its borders to get one recruit and field a top 5 team. The kind of recruiter he is, he would lock down the top 20 guys and call it a year. It's like the Texas job but with an SEC fan base. Awesome potential.

That's a dark place - let's not go there
