From a standpoint of resources, fan base, tradition, and local talent there is only UGA, Bama, UT, and Ohio State

Bama is poor and has to split the state with auburn. Players literally will not go to bama because of loyalty to auburn and vice versa. LSU competes with no one. Bama has major legacy issues .

UGA is legit but they gave legacy issues.
Texas is legit.
Ohio state is legit but has legacy issues.
Also, Michigan is legit.

LSU is top tier program.

It's basically NFL lite.

LSU doesn't have the money to play with the big boys and no one wants to coach in shite hole, 100 degree 90% humidity Louisiana.

NIL area killed LSU, and it's going to get worse, everything monetary or political goes to absolute shite in Louisiana. Why does everyone think football will be any different? We will not even be in the conversation for a natty for a long time.

Get used to it.

Um... Bama and Texas aren't on your level?

Actually, I guess you are right.. they are above your level.

None of this is confirmed true. You think people are lining up to live in Gainesville, Florida? No lol as goes for most college towns. People have different reasons to move to different places.

Alabama has had more national championships than Auburn has had double digit winning seasons since 1999.

I actually don't think this is that great of a job for a coach.

-The university itself is run a lot like our state government, IE, poorly.
-Very high expectations from a fanbase, many of whom are too young to remember the really dark years of LSU football.
-Now, with NIL, recruiting advantages are essentially gone, it's al about the dollar and everybody's dollars are worth the same.

It's great pay but when is the last time a coach stuck around for a decade or more?

I don’t know how much LSU could pay a new coach after paying BK buyout

If we fire BK, I have no idea who is a better option for HC

Not a lot of options. And, the one's available are just going to leverage it for a pay bump and stay put.

What are the thoughts on Jon Sumrall to LSU? SEC experience. 2 x conference championships in 4 years as HC? Established LA and AL (Southern) recruiting ties as HC.

Someone will snatch him out of Tulane. And, they should do it before the UK job opens.

As in a coach can come here and make a legacy for himself.

Ie-
Bama has 2 icons and little opportunity for a coach to come in and make a name.

LSU gives plenty of legacy opportunities and top coaching contenders want that.

They’re fine programs but they have their faults. Texas has to share the stage with some very serious contenders.
Bama has serious legacy issues and they share a small, poor state.

Also- neither has a job opening. Kinda the whole point

You literally had to search for those negatives at the expense of the glaring positives that come with this program

Idiots can win a championship here

LSU used to be a top coaching job. It’s still up there but it’s not one of the best anymore. Coaches are starting to see that if you don’t win 10 games or make the playoffs every year the fan base will turn on you and call for your head. That makes the job a lot less appealing.

LSU is so far beneath Penn St. FLA and Texas in this New NIL Landscape.... I mean like 5 tiers below them.

This is categorically false. Don’t get the reputation of the state mixed up with what you think the opportunity is with funding. Look at most of our big sponsorships, they are not Louisiana companies. LSU is just fine in securing funds. They have done very well as of late and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

Bull crap

We expect 10 wins because it’s the standard here. It’s achievable here.

And Any coach who doesn’t hold at least that level of expectation for themselves doesnt need to be considered.

At LSU, an annual playoff spot is the absolute minimum now.
