All you clowns were telling me VK and Big Ed were done deals. Who fricked the pooch on leaking that bad info?

A coworker of mine spoke with Coach Miles yesterday. Miles said he was "going" to interview Koenning, Chavis, and Robinson. He also said that he already has someone in mind, but needed to look at these three as well. There was no mention of who the mystery candidate is. He was asked about Orgeron and the impression given was that ain't gonna happen.

That got blown up by people running with things that were insinuated.

Nothing was ever a "done deal."

Things were simply looking like they were heading that way. As far as anyone that actually knows anything (like Sonny) he hasn't come out and said anything is official yet. The rantards ran with the whispers of what direction things were heading in as of thursday. Sorry carl.

And Dewayne Walker is also in the mix. From my sources (not as good as talking to Miles), Koening, Chavis, Tenuta, and Walker are the top four considerations.

I think Tenuta would be good, but he hates to recruit

I live in North Carolina, his reputation at UNC was he doesn't recruit

He has an aggressive style, that LSU fans apparently are craving to see more of, rather than a bend don't break defense

Why is Miles Against Coach O?

Coach O is a recruiting machine

Maybe Miles feels he doesn't need any help recruiting, since we are looking at a top 5 class this year

We go 7-5 again, and recruiting is going to start getting difficult nationally. (IMHO, we go 9-3, 10-2 next year with major improvement at QB and Defense)

We are still bearing fruit from the MNC last year

I am guessing a majority of the coaches "hate" to recruit.

that's fantastic if Les thinks he's the best candidate. I'm not sure if I like it if it's being forced down his throat by some TAF guys who might have become infatuated with him last year. From reading this very board, of course.

Pelini didn't recruit. From what I hear Spurrier doesn't like to recruit.

The best recruiters are the guys you don't hear about...

I wish I was Chicken and knew what was up already, and didn't have to sit and wonder. This waiting around is killing me, and we are not even sure if this is going to come to an end before or after the bowl game. I am hoping that a change will be made, but the longer we wait the less certain I am that a change will be made at all.

Miles doesn't think that he needs Orgeron because he thinks that he is a great recruiter. Why bring in Orgeron and deal with his arrogance? Miles' pride will be his downfall. One more year like this, and Miles won't be able to recruit anyone. He needs someone like Coach O on the staff to bring in the players that Miles cannot get to. Orgeron is relentless on the recruiting trail. He was at Miami, USC, and Ole Miss. Miles needs to sit back and manage the team and the coaching staff and not put everything with recruiting on him.

Coaching is what makes the difference, though. You have to develop the talent that you have. Hopefully, we will find a DC that can do that.

of the three names mentioned Miles said that Chavis had excellent credentials. That comment was taken as him separating Chavis from the other two. But he said he needed to look at all of them to see what is there. He offered no hint on the fourth candidate and my buddy thought it best not to ask.

I don;t think anyone has been able to confirm that any interviews have taken place to this point. Since no coaches have been let go, there are no positions to hire into. Of all of the stuff that has been posted, the only thing I have seen confirmed is Robinson admitting he has been contacted.

How do you know Miles is against O?

What if O is just using it to stay with the Saints?
What if O doesn't like Miles, but is throwing his name out there to the media to cause commotion?
What if O only wants a DC job?

there probably 50 scenarios that could be true, but leave it to the rantards to talk up the most anti-miles one.

How he responded to my buddy's asking about Coach O gave no indication at all of the slighest interest in him. But remember, take all of this for what is is worth because Miles is an expert in not showing his hand.
