Do you watch any of the games??? He isn't just beating team 49-34 he's dominating them in all aspects of football. His teams don't make mistakes and if they do they almost always over come them. He's a winner kinda like Beau was back in the day. I really think this guy is the next great coach. Idk about Saban great but he has a shot to be that good. He's beating good teams also! I think he will beat UL and people will still say he's only coached for a year or two? Give me a break. Watch his games the guy is a perfectionist just like Saban was and btw I wasn't sure about his last year just bc he hadn't had enough time as head coach but he has convinced me now. He's worth the shot and LSU would be perfect and I mean perfect for Herman as Herman would for LSU. If he didn't turn it around year one which I think he would, he most certainly will given a few years. The guy is doing it without the recruiting base LSU has also it's amazing what this guy is doing. He's dominating people not just out scoring them but out coaching and out smarting them. By far!!!

I'll cut Jimbo some slack on that one since his starting QB for most of the season didn't even make the trip and his backup could barely move with a taped up sprained foot after he was carted off and returned to play.

F that, don't cut him any slack. The guy played a lot or started in the last 5 games leading up to the bowl game. He may have gotten injured, but 4 ints?

Houston's talent level didn't even come close to FSU's. From a recruiting standpoint from 2012-2015, Vanderbilt ranked higher than Houston by a good bit.

Not saying you, but people want to get on Herman for losing by 3 points to a 6 win UCONN team, on the road, without his star QB, in his first year, but Jimbo loses to a 3-9 GT team by 6 points, on the road, with his starting QB, in his 6th year as FSU's HC (9th year on FSU's staff), and people barely if ever bring it up?

Herman is no joke though. He is a great coach.

This is what we can agree on.

ETA:

I want to ask the people throwing shade at Herman just to prop up Jimbo. Looking at Jimbo's first two years at FSU as HC (plus his previous 3 years as OC), would you (not you, just the ones throwing shade at Herman) have taken him over Tom Herman's 3 years as OSU's OC and 2 years as Houston's HC?

For reference, from 07-10, FSU had the 6th, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st ranked recruiting classes in the ACC. From 12-15 Houston had the 3rd, 2nd, 5th, and 7th ranked recruits in its conferences. That means that their talent "within their conference" is comparable somewhat.

Also for reference, Houston lost to a 4 win UTSA team and 3 win Tulane team at home (including 3 more losses), before Herman got there, so their rebuilding of each team is also comparable.

Jimbo is the safe pick, but being safe doesn't win you championships. Of course there is a chance of backfire, but I believe LSU has the program, and Herman is the type of coach that could turn this into a dynasty.

Thanks to all for the comments (except for the BS replies). Yes, I did research on the man/coach, but I wanted to hear what Tiger Nation had to say. Sounds like he's a good choice. The cupboard is certainly not bare and he will have more talent than he ever dreamed of.

If he in fact becomes the next coach at LSU, then,

as Sam King used to say: LET'S SEE IF THIS DOG CAN HUNT!!
