He also runs this at times:

I am curious though to see how differently he runs things at LSU without Fulmer pulling the strings. My guess is that he'll be more aggressive.

For the most part, he is noted for aggressive Lin and Sec play but has a reputation of playing SOFT on the corners.

He has been a defensive coordinator and has run a lot of defensive schemes over the years. His base defense is a pro-style 4-3. He does like to shift fronts around. His is most famous (or infamous) recently for running what is called the "Mustang" package. This is a pass coverage package that relies on lots of DBs playing soft zone coverage. Yes, it is alleged to be as bad as it sounds.

However, his defense did play as well against Bama as anybody that Bama beat in 2008, and his reputation is that he will run a defense that fits his personnel.

I have suspicions (maybe hopes) that the whole "third and Chavis" thing, going soft with a lead, lack of aggression in general, is more because of Fulmer than Chavis.

Selective as usual, eh? LSU has a spot better talent on board for '09 than UT.
