What are the chances Ole Miss hires Matt Luke?

I dunno. They had a big head start on their search. Why on earth would they be dumb enough to hire a position coach?

Well the good thing about hiring him is that he will have a low salary and they don't even have to give him a buyout!

they could save money on the head coach and spend on coordinators

If they get hammered by the NCAA and Ole Miss can't convince a good coach to come to Oxford, I can see them sticking with Luke

Yeah this needs to be the one, and only plan if the hammer comes down. If it doesnt then maybe give him another year to prove himself. Which is tough for recruiting reasons, but who is olemiss going to go get with all the openings right now creating new openings.

Honestly though it is not a bad idea. Give him a 3 year deal and then evaluate from there.

They should save their money and keep him . It will be hard to get a good coach right now with out knowing the sanctions.

He's done a great job this year. They e had a better season than Freeze had last year with a worse team. Waiting it out another year or two might not be a bad idea.
