What about Trev Faulk for LB coach if it’s Nielsen for DC?

I know he’s the head coach for Lafayette Christian but you’d have to think he would jump at the opportunity to progress his coaching career to the college ranks. I’m sure he would be a fine LB coach and an even better recruiter.

TBL said Trev would be an analyst

I didn’t know that. Don’t we have Kelvin Sheppard as an analyst too?

I thought that he couldn’t be an analyst because he’s related to Sage. Has to be an on-field position.

Serious question, is he blood related to Sage or is it like me calling my dad's best friend Uncle Joe even though we aren't related?

Gotcha.

Which begs another question - is there a relation that is distant enough to skirt the rules? Like do 2nd cousins count? (no clue how closely they're related)

Oh that answers that

That being said, I'd be fine with him coaching LBs. Trev is a very smart guy, hard working, and was a great LB himself.

Yeah. Him, Bennie Logan and Dwayne Thomas. And Lacouture is a GA. That Chavis coaching tree about to take off.

I think he is far enough removed relationshipwise that it is not a factor.

DJ Smith is a name I wouldn’t mind hearing about.

I thought it’s the opposite.

What’s Travis Williams situation at Auburn right now?

No, he is correct. If you want to hire a direct relative, then you have to be willing to use up one of your 10 on-field coaching spots. You can’t just stash away all your recruits dads and coaches as “analysts.”

But I don’t know where that relationship line is drawn.

Nice. I didn't know about him but being around A-Hole Steele as a coach is a plus. I can't believe his name hasn't come up with all the flux on the Plains.

He's a Director of Player Development. Is this different?

Trev Faulk for LB coach would work, but we need to make sure we do in fact get Nielsen.

Then again, Nielsen may bring a LB coach from the NFL with him, we don't know what his plan may be.
