What about Strong to Miami, Morris or Herman to UT?

If Charlie runs off to Miami (something I don't think anyone could blame him for doing) would Texas go after either Morris or Herman? Either one can recruit the state very well and has shown they can put a very successful offense on the field.
Pair him up with a stout DC and could they bring UT back?
Or will UT continue to insist that they are still a top program in the country and demand Saban-like experience out of their next HC?

Not really. Charlie would do well in a place that he could actually use his Florida connections

This and the fact that expectations at Miami would not be nearly as high-pressure as Texas.

He may have been just an absolute god awful hire for UT but that doesn't mean he couldnt be successful. I also feel like at a smaller program like south Carolina he could have some success but he's in way over his head at UT

He would kill it at UCF though I don't think he'd have to fall that far down

Morris is an Aggie and I don't think he'd go to Texas but you never know. Herman would kill it there if they gave him time. I don't think either will happen because "they are Texas" and will want a big name. I haven't perused their boards lately but I'm sure they are naming NFL coaches as their top picks and the fan base won't be happy unless it's a brand name guy. jmo and I don't know shite take it for what it's worth which is nada

Texas fans are talking about the usual suspects, Sean Payton, Chip Kelly, John Harbaugh and so forth
I suspect many of them will be very disappointed to hire an AAC coach, which is probably what they'd end up doing.

UT fans are delusional about their coaching expectations. Last time Gruden "was very interested" but they end up with Strong?

Always thought Charlie Strong would be a good fit at a place like South Carolina.

Who said that Charlie Strong would be out at Texas? I don't think he goes this round.

the AD that hired him got run off, big money boosters never wanted him, also is probably just a poor fit at UT.

But he wasn't replaced. That needs to happen before Strong get fired.
Unless he loses to Kansas Charlie gets another year.

Why does everyone assume that Charlie Strong is this great coach who automatically deserves a second chance at a major university? He has the keys to the easiest 10 win job in America and he can't even score a point against Iowa State. He's not winning at Texas and he can't even recruit at Texas. Why shouldn't he have to work his way back up the coaching ladder like, say, Will Muschamp after failing at what should be an easy job? With all the great young coaches out there, why would a major university who just fired an under-performing coach want to hire another under-performing coach? Someone name me 2 coaches who have ever failed at one major college job, then were hired immediately at another major job and succeeded? Rich Rod maybe??? It rarely happens.

His Florida ties, his scrappiness and his anti-thug rules make him a perfect fit for what Miami used to be.

Perrin is a puppet of Joe Jamail, Red McCombs, Tom Hicks and the rest of the TEXAS jock-sniffer boosters.
I knew that because the first home game after Patterson (AD) was fired, UT ran a commercial at the first TV timeout about Joe Jamail getting some bullshite lawyer award, with that cheesy-arse Philadelphia Yankee, Bob Cole, the public address announcer, and his fake Texas accent leading the cheers.
That's not good news for Charlie Strong.
