That'd be a pretty good hire for them. Keeps a pro-style scheme and also there are some similarities I'm assuming as Nussmeier and McElwain worked together at Michigan St. from 03-05, so it shouldn't be too big of a transition.

We shall see

I like the sound of Nussmeier more than I do Koetter or Schottenheimer.

This. The USC pro style offense is about as good as it gets if you want lots of points but in a defense friendly system.

He interviewed on Thursday. Supposedly, according to BOL, his interview went extremely well (as did Koetter's) and he appears to be the frontrunner.

Schottenheimer is interviewing today.

Update for some of the Bama fans here. Sounds like there's mutual interest with Nussmeier and Alabama. Sark is worried that he won't be back. Sark also just said that giving up play calling to keep Nussmeier at UW is possible.

Yeah I read on twitter that he was intrigued with Alabama because he could get to call the plays.

I would assume it would have to be "mutual interest" if he was interviewing.

Shut the hell up. Your thread on this same subject was a complete failure. You never could produce pics. You sound like a perverted stalker.

How is this guy at developing QB's? That is a big factor that Alabama has been missing. We have had very talented QB's that get the job done but they never really get developed in terms of a true, big time passing QB.

Put McCarron under someone that knows how to develop QB's and he may do some things that no Alabama fan as ever seen before.

Very good from what I've seen so far. Took Jake Locker who had never had a QB coach in his life and made him the 8th overall pick in 2 years of coaching (Don't bother looking at stats to refute what he meant to Locker if you don't know the whole situation). Now Keith Price was a Sophomore this past year, knows nothing but Nussmeier as his QB coach, and posted the 7th best passer rating in college football. Best statistical year of any Sophomore QB in the country. The O-Line is still very poor at pass blocking and he was a 3-star coming out of high school. I really don't want to lose him.

All the guys we have interviewed are disciples/proteges of Scott Linehan as was McElwain. The offense probably will not change much. A Conservative West Coasty type deal maybe with more emphasis on a fullback than an H-B. Might throw the ball more with the emergence of AJ. The hire is crucial though. We need someone to continue AJ's progression.

Koetter to the Falcons. Schottenheimer to the Rams. Hopefully Nussmeier to Alabama. Everybody's happy.
