Ryan Day come on down!

This metric (while awesome) is meaningless without seeing the # of games played. Saban and Jimbo separated by .002?!

That involves a lot more typing

Plus, a quality coach should win against the competition he faces at whatever level he coached. Otherwise you get a guy like Charlie Strong who is .712 at one level of football, but .423 at another.

This is so fricking unbelievably stupid without any context. You used to not be such a shite poster. What happened to you? Pick yourself up.

You had time to calculate 30 coaches’ winning percentages and then group them in tiers.I don’t think a tiny bit of context is a bridge too far.

Hello.

"Brian Kelly's .739 winning percentage trails only Nick Saban among active FBS coaches with at least 15 years of head coaching experience." LINK

Think about that Tigers!

I still believe Brian Kelly is a darkhorse in this. He has won a lot of games everywhere he has been.

ND also had a bye last week, and there has been relatively little chatter about him.

And how far down the list is mel tucker? Oh, yeah. He is way down there with a horrible record thats barely above .500, and thats before he takes a few losses down the stretch this season too. If his overall record as a hc is above .500 after this season i will be very surprised. That dude isnt anywhere near qualified to be the head coach at LSU.

Looks like, out of the choices that are realistic, it is Napier.

Irrelevant. Coaches like Riley and Day started at elite programs. Many other coaches started at shite programs and worked their way up.

Well, where the hell do you think the next LSU coach is going to start? LSU is elite. However, its coach is a fraud. And yet we are still beating ranked opponents.

Whoever gets LSU will start exactly where Day and Riley started. Exactly

I think it kind of does a guy like Napier a disservice, though. ULL usually wins their conference games, but they obviously lose the big games that they optionally schedule (UT for example). Napier is probably 2-3 on my list for the record.
